1. Jungfraujoch is the highest railway station in Europe and is located at an altitude of 3445 meters below the slope of the peak Mathildespitze (3557m). A little further along the ridge is the four-thousander Jungfrau at 4158 meters. The railway line runs through a tunnel named Jungfrau, which is carved through the mountains Eiger and Mönch. The line also has intermediate stations with excellent views of the surrounding peaks.
