Last week we ascended Gross via Pasterze and along the Meletzkigrat ridge to the top summit...the ridge is steep and passable without issues (climbing 2nd to 3rd grade),as soon as you leave it there's tons of snow that sinks deep. Descent from Erzherzog Johann hut across glacier back to Pasterze...glacier path is very poorly visible and utmost caution needed, plus full gear required...
Snow from hut on and lots more at the top. Ascent and descent with good fitness and tech knowledge doable in one day no probs, but aware it's relative depending on individual...
Hope this helps someone with info, when I asked about conditions I got vague and patronizing replies from some folks..if more interested can ana zs...

This weekend 09 07 and 10.07.2016 I did acclimatization tour on Grossglockner. Still need full winter gear and some knowledge and courage. Saturday fog all day and light snow. But Sunday finally nice weather and cloudless sky.
Next weekend maybe something much higher.

Conditions for approach from the south side to Grossglockner were good recently, as there wasn't much snow. These days some should fall again.
