Reviving memories, "touristy" strolling, despite the crowd of visitors worth seeing...
Tre Cime.1
Chamois have livened up the picture.2
There are flowers too.3
But they are not that high..., a few human lengths.4

Between 15th and 20th August a group of 8 hikers would visit the area around the Three Peaks. I am wondering how far in advance it is recommended to book a stay at the Auronzo hut. Any information welcome and thanks in advance.

On Saturday with PD Železniki in the area of the Three Peaks.
Starting point at Auronzo hut, past Lavaredo hut, continuation via ferrata to Monte Paterno, descent back to saddle and also around the towers to the peak to the east, back to saddle and descent to Locatelli hut.
Followed continuation under the towers of Torre di Toblin, via ferrata to the summit, descent on the other side to Locatelli hut and back to starting point.

Nice day in beautiful nature and great company.
Thanks PD Železniki for the organization.velik nasmeh

Franci, very nice!
Exactly that tour I have planned for some time, just in reverse direction (first Torre di Toblin...) What do you recommend? Or is yours the right one and more sensible?mežikanje
Thanks. nasmeh

Tre Cime - Drei Zinnen - Three Peaks.
The fourth scribble doesn't exist! Let the administrator finally write the correct name!

I went today in the reverse direction and there won't be any difference.

Boštjan
Knap already answered.
Maybe for the weekend the reverse direction is better, because the ferrata to Torre di Toblin is longer and more demanding and therefore not so crowded in the morning yet.nasmeh

Thanks, knap4227 and Franci! nasmeh
Now I just need to recover well from the fall from the cherry tree, then I hope it finally works out in August. So probably really first Torre di Tomblin...
Good luck!

PFranci - how many hours for this tour?

That's hard to estimate. If you're alone and don't clip in it's very fast.
But if you get caught in the flow of events, you have to take time, turn off the nerves and in the afternoon you're back.mežikanje

Not clipping in on ferratas is quite a reckless statement. For ferratas "mandatory" equipment and also its proper use.

Mandatory equipment and also its proper use...But still everyone decides for themselves!!!...Here then the debate about proving, ego, experiences about freedom of self-decision starts...etc...etcmežikanje

With this equipment and the related safety, it's like this. An experienced mountaineer (which Franci certainly is) knows well what is safe and what is not. Someone who has bought the best equipment but doesn't know much about serious mountains, and who is pushed onto an exposed, unprotected ridge, is in much greater danger (to themselves and others) - despite the equipment. Judging by the pictures (body posture!), mostly inexperienced greenhorns go on these mountain railways.
Usually, the least experienced have the most to say about what is "mandatory" and "correct".

Everything is in the psyche; on the hardest ferratas, in case of a fall with SVK, it can also be fatal. An uncontrolled landing with butt or face into the rock and it's the end, therefore it's more psyche. I saw in the Dolomites on ferratas and in the rocks deaths, such and different ones; there is no safety in the mountains. Well, also elsewhere in life, rarely.

In the Dolomites, we mostly talk about classic ferratas with long approaches and descents where the difficulty reaches max grade D; there, besides solid psyche, general fitness is also needed... In a fall, if there are no rubber cones at belay points that absorb a large part of the energy created in the fall, or slack steel cables with catch pockets, it comes to breaking of SVK connectors or, due to the fall force itself, to tearing of SVK leashes, not to mention hits against the wall or pegs... On a ferrata, everyone fears uncontrolled falls the mostmežikanje

An uncontrolled fall on a ferrata happens, in my opinion, when your arms get twisted, then comes an unexpected/unforeseen opening of the hands and the consequent fall in which we no longer have control... I didn't talk about controlled falls at all!!!mežikanje
