Hey anyone got a suggestion for a 3-day tour (2 nights) in the Julian Alps. Something medium difficulty. We planned to go in July through the Triglav Lakes valley to Triglav and down the other side but we're figuring there might still be snow or already crowded. Are we wrong? So if anyone has a suggestion... We'd like the goal to be some higher mountain. Thanks

If you want really medium difficult (Triglav isn't exactly that) and not too crowded, better visit some other high equally scenic peak. Recommend searching trips including Prisojnik, Razor, Stenar or Kanjavec. Slightly lower than Triglav but still great views, and much easier access. Say my suggestion (similar to what I did last year): 1. day: Hut in Krnica - Kriška stena - Kriški podi (maybe afternoon hop to Križ, Pihavec or Stenar) 2. day: Kriški podi - Razor - under Prisojnik to Vršič 3. day: Vršič - Prisojnik (choose path yourself) - valley Or two years ago: 1. day: Planina Voje - Tosc - Vodnik hut 2. day: Vodnik hut - Dolič - Kanjavec - Prehodavci 3. day: through Triglav lakes valley to planina Jezero, Blato and down to planina Voje. At end lots of time left for swimming in Bohinj or Bled.

1. day from Vršič to shelter under Špičkom. If too little, to Slemenova špica for breakfast. 2. day to Jalovec 3. day from shelter to Trenta with visits to Soča spring, Arboretum and museum. Sleep twice in shelter under Špičkom but not allowed to bed before evening. Did this last year when elsewhere still snow, this path dry as sunny side. Early morning and late afternoon buses from Ljubljana over Vršič to coast. Same from coast over Vršič to Ljubljana. Bus times perfect for hike to hills or back home or to parked car. Good luck on path and don't fear big rain, it just cleans air and view better.

First a nice greeting to everyone on the forum I'm asking you for advice on a tour So I'm a regular visitor to our mountains, this year three more friends expressed the wish to go with me on some tour, and now I'm looking for the nicest and most interesting 3-day tour (2 nights) to enthuse my mates about our mountains So does anyone have a suggestion for the most interesting and suitable 3-day tour (fitness and will is no problem, but not much experience) first thing that came to mind for me is a tour past the Triglav Lakes and then somewhere further, but anything goes I know I asked a very broad question but I hope someone has done a similar tour and can quickly give a good suggestion have a nice day =)

I suggest first day to Črni prst, second day across almost the whole ridge /you guide them/ to Komna, third day to Ledvička and down. Technically easy with long distances and wide views.

Some south Bohinj mountains then across Komna to the Seven Lakes would be worth it.

We decided this year to conquer Triglav again . Since the others in the group don't go to the mountains much, we opted for a 3-day tour, sleeping at Kredarica and the Seven Lakes Hut. Since I was last at Kredarica about 15 years ago, I'm really looking forward to visiting it. Anyway, I suggest the path to Kriški plateau, to Prehodavci, then visit some mountain near Triglav, then to Triglav Lakes. The tour can be very nice, but I'm not sure if it's exactly for 3 days... more for two. Wherever you go, I wish you a nice mountain experience and be sensible Best....Katy

If you prefer peace, go to Karavanke, they are a bit less crowded than the Julians, but still offer true mountaineering joy. The only issue might be getting back to the start, but that can be arranged too.

Thanks for the replies, we'll combine a bit An idea for a tour was born: 1st day: Planina Blato -> Kanjavec -> Zasavska hut 2nd day: Zasavska hut -> hut at Triglav Lakes (maybe Kopica or Zelnarica in between??) 3rd day: hut at Triglav Lakes -> Pršivec -> Planina Blato what do you say to this tour? feasible? what to shorten, remove?? nice day (though it looks like thunderstorms)

On the second day just add some summit, because from Zasavska hut to the Triglav Lakes hut it's only about 2 hours, or combine day 2 and 3 into one. LP

My better half and I are also planning a 3-day mountain jaunt this year, probably early August. There's still plenty of time, but anyway I occasionally "cast an eye" on the map.... For this year we have the Julians in mind and if anyone who's done a similar tour is willing to help with an idea or suggestion... one word is enough. We'll be grateful... Some basic info on the planned tour to help: - start: anywhere in the Julians - finish = start - duration: 3 days (2x sleep), or 3 days and one afternoon (3x sleep, if first day is just 1-2 hour afternoon approach to a somewhat higher hut, to save on first "real" day travel time to start and some altitude, and no need to get up in the middle of the night on first day) - sleeping in huts: preferably different one each day - desirable "maintaining altitude " sleeping - hiking pace: up - a bit faster than times on mountain signs, down - faster than times on mountain signs (e.g. Škrlatica - Vrata: 3h30) - daily hiking time (with breaks - if nice weather, we like to enjoy the views): up to 10 hours - suitable type and difficulty of paths: marked and secured paths (we've climbed e.g. to Koroška Rinka - Križ from Okrešelj direction or Mangart via Slovenska), but my dear prefers to avoid really open precipitous sections - goals: yes some summits would be nice to visit, if possible without Škrlatica, Mangart and Jalovec (we did them last year), that would be super Maybe helpful for finding an idea is a short description of last year's tour in KSA: - 1. day (1h): Rinka waterfall - Okrešelj (sleep) - 2. day (10h): Okrešelj, Križ, Kranjska Rinka, Štajerska Rinka, over Mala Rinka to Turska gora, on to Kamniško sedlo - Brana - Kamniško sedlo (sleep) - 3. day (9h): Kamniško sedlo - Planjava - Lučka Baba - Vilice - Ojstrica - Mala Ojstrica - Korošica (sleep) - 4. day (6.5h): Korošica - Lučki Dedec - over Škarje past Klemenče cave to Logarska dolina As I said, any idea or suggestion will be very welcome and thanks in advance.

I don't know why you don't look under "General discussions", where such topics belong, namely under title: 3 day trip, there's already something on the topic described there. Otherwise how do you know it's the better half ? You won't reach higher-situated huts in 1-2 hours, because approaches are much longer. Why don't you get such literature, where everything is nicely described ! You write that she prefers to avoid open precipitous parts, but you've already visited three of the most exposed (Mangart, Jalovec, Škrlatica) obviously the experience was so bad that now she avoids it. Well let someone make the effort and fill the plate.

Igor, thanks for the reply and info on the already open similar thread in general discussions (the first variant mentioned by Keber1 seems quite interesting to us ). Still, I'd appreciate any other idea if someone has one... And additional explanation regarding the fear my better half has (Igor, if you knew her, you wouldn't ask how I know - I think she's the better half): without problems and with only good memories from those tours we visited the aforementioned summits, but barely managed a few meters e.g. from Kokra to Jezersko Kočna or some chimneys and gully under Grintovec summit from Mlinarsko sedlo direction.... who would understand...

Here's a very simple tour for you: Starting point: Hut at Savica Waterfall, leave the car there Day 1: ascent to Dom na Komni or to hut below Bogatin, sleep there, if you have the will and time stroll to Bogatinsko sedlo and climb Bogatin or Mahavšček, just to stretch your legs Day 2: from Komna plateau to hut at Triglav Lakes, Triglav Lakes valley, if you want you can also to Little and Big Špičje (not demanding), then descend to hut at Prehodavci for sleeping. Day 3: from Prehodavci over Vršaki to Vrata, then you have two variants: either peaks Zelnarica - Kopica - Tičarica then descent to hut at Triglav Lakes and back down via Komarča, or variant over Dedno polje plateau, then from there again to Komarča (more variants) and down to Savica Waterfall. That's a nice three-day tour, I did it with my better half a few years ago, it's something they can do in 3 days without straining, views are nice, nature too, it's not just scrambling on rocks (which they quickly get bored of, my experience) and it's not very demanding, except a bit fitness-wise, technically not at all. If you go, go during the week, because weekends are crowded, especially at Prehodavci, as it's a small hut. Best regards

Has anyone perhaps walked it, or can estimate how long the path from Pogačnikov dom on Razor and then to Prisank via Slovenska pot (ridge option) up and via Slovenska dol down and then to Vršič would take. Jubilejna for up would be for my one, I think, a bit too long . Our pace: a bit faster than norms up and down about 60% of the time for up. Condition still good....

This is not known to me but I have an idea if I can help you: 1.ukanc-vogel-komna(10 hrs) 2.komna-Triglav lakes-Triglav via dolič(sleep at dolič or planika) 3.then vodnik hut-planina konjščica-uskovnica-stara fužina-ukanc. I think it's feasible time-wise. I wish you a nice trip whatever you choose

Hello mountaineers Last year we did a 2-day tour in Kamnik Alps (Kamniška bistrica, Ojstrica, Planjava, Kamniško sedlo, Brana, Skuta, Cojzova koča, Kamniška bistrica) this year we'd like to do a 2- or 3-day trip in Julian Alps (with the same starting point). We imagined something like this: BOHINJ-ČRNA PRST-VOGEL-KOMNA SEDMERA-TIČARCA-DEDNO POLJE-BOHINJ THREE-DAY FROM SEDMERA TO KRN VIA BOGATIN AND BACK Please share your suggestions (paths not too demanding, walking for the whole day, fitness no problem) Thanks again for every useful tip
