Andraška Trail

geppo24. 04. 2020 19:57:18
We didn't hike the "original" Andraška, but adapted it a bit.
We started at the parking lot under Vimperk. Unfortunately, as soon as you step out of the car your gaze falls on the orders/prohibitions of access to this hillock (442m asl) above Polzela.
We tackle it from the eastern side and cross it as fast as possible so they don't catch usvelik nasmeh
We continue along the ridge towards Gora Oljka. This one also forbidden!!! We don't dare!zmeden
We flee and descend towards the house of poet Neža Maurer. Next goal is Sevčnik 562m asl. This one probably isn't forbidden or we missed the orders/prohibitions....
We walk along the ridge, visit the summit. On the bench we find a packed anorak. I take a photo to post the find, we descend towards Vaga.
From there to Vranja peč 373m asl. We violate the municipal decision and stray a few steps into the cadastre of Velenje municipality. We return to "our" municipality via an underground passage carved by water. "Dacarji" don't check passages between municipalities here...we're safevelik nasmeh
We continue towards Andraška church. But soon it pulls us off the asphalt onto green meadows and our own way. It goes well for us and along the way we visit "Bbrino" on the estate that they cultivate with the husband.
We drink beer and still have almost an hour to the start.
It added up to cca. 21km and a bit over 7 hours walking.
nice, now I have enough explorations in my home municipality...zavijanje z očmi

With all these closures of crossing municipal borders, we tried to adapt as best as possible to the restrictions. We mostly follow the rules, (a couple 100 m here or there).
The path is extremely varied, from gentle walking forest paths, to secured sections with cables, over climbing and underground passages. There's everything.
Quite a nice number of elevation meters accumulate (close to 1000 m).
Markings are exemplarily arranged, only where there are none, there's a bit of trouble.
At the beginning of the path, I didn't know yet how loooong it would be.1
Nice little trail for fitness. Enjoying it.2
The whole time the view of Gora accompanies us, which is also the main orientation point.3
I've seen many of them already, this one is nice and new.4
Sevčnik is a peak that is not solitary, judging by the entries.5
We put it in the sun to warm up.6

Without climbing at geppot it just doesn't go, whoever knows it, knows that.9

Nice places. We'll visit some more.
Basically everything is forbidden, even picture 2, but people after a few weeks took matters into their own hands and removed most notices and red tapes and threw them in the trash. Well, some are still left.
When you see e.g. on Šmohorju (800 m.a.s.l.) a patrol car and two policemen with medical masks who at seven in the evening are looking for the road back to the valley, you slowly wonder if some things aren't just to fulfill the money quota. Pity, because they dilute some good measures...

GPS track image

I'll try to upload the GPS track of Andraška path too. Here is just the image of that track.

GPS track is already uploaded:
Gora Oljka
Založe (Hotunjščica) - Gora Oljka (Andraška pot)
The picture shows it a bit differently.1

The Andraška trail is exemplarily marked.
Only, before climbing to Sevčnik from the asphalt road it pulls you onto gravel straight into the forest.
But you have to go left steeply into the forest. I also went cca. 50 meters wrong. A signpost is needed there or it was there and got removed...?
Otherwise the trail is nicely followable!
regards
Here you go straight automatically, not steeply left into the forest. No sign for left.1

There is a signpost, but it's cleverly hidden behind a whole pile of stacked logsmrk pogledit would be worth screwing it half a meter higher or asking the owner to show it to hikers' eyes again.

Hah, today in some quite long and hot "Andraška" variant. I went to check also how it is with the prohibitions. Notices are removed, but I think not by official persons.

Hi!
Today I went to see this Vranja peč (it really surprises how many wonderful corners there are in our municipality). Does anyone have info about the climbing area? It says climbing is prohibited. Is it only during the crisis or some private crag? It looks quite nicely arranged. Thanks!
Regards
Lev

As far as I know, locals who are members of ŠAO Velenje equipped that crag. Problem is then access by car from Polzela side. No parking nearby and they had issues with the house owner where the road leads, because they parked on the access road. That's all I know, if I learn more and you're interested I can tell you later (regarding climbing ban).
"tropine"
if you look at the map I attached on 24.4. you should almost figure it out. Otherwise ask me on ZS, if you don't know anything from that map.

When we were just two years ago debating this part of the trail with Zlatko. Photo from this morning - all praise to PS Andraž and the local for exemplary repair of the tricky orientation point. Sevčnik is great for interval training.
Now exemplarily marked.1

Yesterday to check the original route, because some plans got snowed in. Well, not quite original, under Oljka instead of the crowd we extended into the solitude of a short hunting trail. Impressions - cca 6h, lots over rough terrain, mini ascents and descents leave tired legs, for 100 visits you have to be a super local patriotcool because it's good training and nice surroundings, so we'll return to it of course. https://pd-polzela.si/ps-andraz/po-poteh-andraza/
P.S. Always bugs me in Andraž itself - Gričar inn (closed) is of course just a short dead-end extension for the stamp. Further into Andraž (e.g. school, church,...) we don't go.

The Andraš Trail is close to central Slovenia, so this time it was perfect for later rising. It got its name from the village Andraž above Polzela, which lends its name to numerous hamlets in the near and far surroundings. The trail has two variants ahead, both running in a nice environment without excessive ups and downs. Overall well marked, so GPS track isn't even necessary.

We started *in the middle of nowhere* before the bridge over Hotunjščica. Parking by the road has space for three careful drivers, but no crowds expected. Right after the bridge markers took us right into the cool by the stream. We continued throughout on the excellently marked trail. It led us through numerous hamlets, scenic ridges and countless gullies. Nowhere orientation issues, trail comfortable to walk everywhere. Central point is Gora Oljka, where we took time for a longer break. Followed descent on the other side and continuation on still well-marked trail. This part too is landscape varied and not strenuous. Way too soon we finished on the main road few hundred meters before start. Followed some moments walking on asphalt and closed the loop. Recommend nasmeh. More in photo story ...

Starting point coordinates: 46°18'02.7"N, 15°05'24.2"E
We park next to the road at the bridge over the Hotunjščica.1
Immediately behind the bridge the first markers guide us2
We continue along the stream. We will do a loop to the right3
Everywhere there are hunting blinds. Game is scarce here...4
The crossings over wet sections are also nicely arranged5
Nearby farm in the early morning. Everything is still quiet...6
You can't see any proper villages, they are more like hamlets7

At first we thought it was a church, but they don't have satellite dishes :)9

Not exactly planned, but ideal weather came for such idea. So in morning I rushed into long endurance interval of Andraš Trail counterclockwise. Around 5°C, higher near zero, cloudy bit foggy, third of trail rain, free thoughts, not too much mud anywhere, after 4h and some minutes mainly tired feet. Maybe we'll run it sometime... Sevčnik has new bivouac. Many roads (gravel, asphalt) excellently fixed in Andraž last year. Fingers crossed Samajama Polzela - Velenje sometimenasmeh nice rest of holidays!
One for Zlatko, who also enjoyed today :)1
