Baptism in the mountains

We go up because of national pride, tradition and, despite mass visitation, beautiful experience. In the crowd of well-meaning people who catch the moment of unconditional spirit in themselves and fulfillment on the summit, it is the greatest happiness and power of unity, no matter where they come from and who they are.
Mountains themselves are not meant for a polygon where one would constantly have to prove and measure oneself, but path of discovery of the human who heads to the mountain. Steepness and difficulty only contribute to forgetting the valley-ordered reason and heading to the path to oneself with universal consciousness that draws energy from nature-cosmos. Thus on the summit only we win over ourselves (not over the mountain) for the leap to true consciousness and emerging harmony, and to the mountain we just thank for its path (teaching) or key to transformation in us ourselves.

Yeah viharnik, I have the feeling that there are fewer and fewer people who go to the mountains, with the same thoughts and feelings as you have. As long as there are still some of us, nature will achieve its purpose. Lp

why exactly on Triglav? I was baptized on Mali Golak, is there something wrong with that?

Well viharnik, what you wrote in the first paragraph. Maybe you or someone else goes up because of such thoughts and feelings, I certainly don't. I don't go to the mountains at all because of that. Actually I don't even go to Triglav. When I go up it'll be in winter, definitely not summer!velik nasmeh

Arguing about why someone goes to the mountains is just like kids arguing if vanilla or chocolate ice cream is better :P.

Everyone finds their own reason for the mountains (and that's right, where would we end up if we were all the same). This reason is tolerated and acceptable as long as it doesn't hinder and disturb other mountaineers.

I was baptized in the first days of life, then never again. But I've baptized quite a few because of that, most of course on Triglav, where I escorted over 200 people, never counted, even some complete strangers I met for the first time. (maybe someone will report who experienced this nice custom). Essential tool for first-timer baptism is of course the auxiliary rope, which must be properly folded - braided into a plait. Usually a light question is asked, like: how high is Triglav, which year the tower was built and similar. Interestingly, most can't answer the question in anticipation of baptism, no penalty. Then usually three blows on the butt, with the third one "felt". Right that the baptizee squeals a bit at least, but some clench teeth and are quiet. To make the rite more interesting or proper, open the "tower" doors on Triglav, baptizee puts upper body inside, legs and butt outside. Before baptism obligatory check no padding in pants, especially for the fair sex, gotta pat a bitzavijanje z očmi. All events recorded by camera or photo, if photographer misses, extra blow on the butt. I always watch that after baptism the new Triglavan or true Slovene doesn't hit head on upper door frame, as they stand up quickly, put hand on head and watch they withdraw carefully from tower. Follows handshake, girls usually get kiss too, get it on arrival also on other peak, or midway if harder path section climbed. On occasion drink something for it, but not obligatory, less necessary.
I think it's a nice custom that should be kept.
It bothers me incomplete baptism when some hit the "unlucky" just with hand or with trekking pole. For some special honor if famous Slovene baptizes, I know at least two who gladly did if nearby, but never togethermežikanje. Baptizee can choose mountain nickname after baptism, not known if anyone uses it on forum.
