I'm interested in the current conditions for the path to Bivouac below Skuta from Kamniška Bistrica.

Since it's nicer in the mountains despite bad weather forecasts than in the valley, this time I went to the Pavle Kemperle bivouac under Grintovec. I started the trail classically in Konec, climbed to the Cojzova hut and via Malih vrat and Jurjevec to the Bivouac at 2099 m high. The trail was somewhat slippery from the rain, but who knows how to walk also on such terrain gets there nicely. Down in the valley the sun shines in the morning, but as I climb higher it gets more foggy and dark. Above 2000 m compared to the calm below, wind started blowing and above that height noticeably colder air came. It blew from SE, about 40 km/h. After less than three hours I was already at the bivouac, where they have already built the concrete foundation for the new modern bivouac. The old bivouac still serves well, so I retreated into it from the cold wind and had lunch. It was already whistling a bit around the bivouac corners. After half an hour the fogs were even stronger, so instead of the planned ascent to Štruca, I headed towards the valley. At one I was already at the car, started at eight. Lp-Rok!nasmeh

On the website http://kacnje.blogspot.com/2009/09/betoniranje-za-novi-bivak-pod.html you can see the modern approach to concreting the foundation slab for the new bivouac under Grintovec.

On the pictures you can clearly see what wind force there is in mountains during front passage. From well-covered, stone-filled and weighted polyvinyl, practically nothing was left.

1. Nosko: look at the last part of the 24ur.com show
and if you're already active on the forum read what people write above mežikanje

2. It would be nice if the topic could be renamed to: Bivak under Grintovec

and not bivak under Skuta, maybe info better and not misleading.

The mistake regarding the categorization in the main title was mine because I didn't want to open an extra thread just for one bivouac visit where both are nearby. Roka, please delete the upper posts so there is more space for mountain info which the forum is for.

I'll write this here because I haven't seen anything about it elsewhere.
Yesterday I was on Grintovec right in the middle of setting up new bivouac and new direction stone on top. Haven't seen the latter anywhere yet!? One team was setting bivouac visible from top too, other stone. With Bojan we helped hikers from PD Kamnik and GRS Kamnik and stone almost a ton heavy (in three parts) quickly placed and oriented. As reward got ride to valleynasmeh Would praise SLO army for effort and excellent pilot maneuvering on windy top.
Will attach some pics if possible.

This Saturday (7.11.) we went from the parking lot in Konec to Kokrsko sedlo then to the bivouac under Grintovec. Fog, wind, lots of snow. We slept in the bivouac, Sunday back the same path.zadrega

Hi!

In the near future I plan to go via Žmavčarje to Rinke and sleep in the Bivouac under Skuta. I've never slept in a bivouac before (nowhere, only looked inside one - Za Akom), curious what to bring (mat or sleeping bag....) and how is the occupancy of this bivouac.

Thanks for the answer and best regards.

Hi
This weekend we're planning to head to one of the mentioned bivouacs, interested in snow conditions on the S side. What gear do I need?
Thanks
Primož
