This morning I visited Veliki Javornik on Bohor. I started at Jablance and past the hospital to the top. Wet snow towards the top is over half a meter deep, lower maybe 40 cm. It sinks to the bottom in places. Towards the Javornik summit I chose a more western path - I was first and trudged knee-deep. From the summit to the hut yesterday one hiker went on the old trail, so the descent hardly sank. The sun was very warm, snow will melt fast in this weather (southern and wet). The descent didn't sink much. The usual path from the hut to Jablance is well trodden - rocks are visible under snow in places - especially in the sun.

Bohor is also nice at this time, yesterday I visited it again after a week. The path is damp, so quite slippery on leaves and stones, but if the footwear is right there is no problem. In the sun, the sunlit Krško polje is nicely visible and far around and the autumn colouring of nearby and slightly more distant hills. But today too much wind.

This Bohor excursion is really nice. Especially if there is fog in the valley, on such a hillock the sun shines But is there also some hike on partisan paths given that on the sign at the hut the path Bojev iz Zmag is marked?

Today we made a trip to the hut on Bohor, then to V. Javornik, then to the hospital and to the Ubijavnik waterfall. We started at Jablanica. The path is dry. A bit below the Javornik summit it is icy in places. Visibility excellent, all the way to Snežnik. At times it was windy.

I tried yesterday to Bohor, to the partisan hospital, but already before the turnoff to Greben I should have turned back. On the path there were at least 5 snow avalanches hanging dangerously over the lower path. It was dangerous that some rock could fly. When returning there were already 2 new avalanches - just in a few minutes. Snow to the waist, but I managed on the classic marked path to the hut. The hut outside looks like it was abandoned. A week ago it was snow-covered, today even more. As soon as conditions allow, then to Javornik and Koprivnik.

On Sunday 15.4.2012 from the east - to Bohor from the start Lesično and right on the hiking path of the 14th division. The path is excellently marked and is part of... wider trails. I stumbled upon it practically in the center of the place Lesično at the bridge over the Bistric. On this path - one of the eastern approaches to Bohor - rarely anyone walks, runs, hikes... judging by what was seen. At one spot near the house in Lesično there is still a logbook with first entry !? 04.07.1984. These are simple logbooks that preserve stories of past decades and it is a pleasure to sign them. I visited all the main points: Brest 808 m, mountain hut on Bohor 896 m, Koprivnik 984 m, the highest peak of Bohor - Veliki Javornik 1024 m, and on the return also the 921 m high Debeli vrh and already somewhat on the way to Podsreda castle also the peak with an interesting name !? - 860 m high Oslica. GPS track: Bohor from Lesično, 15.04.2012 Probably also a return in some other variant and in the jargon of the 14th division - with a ,,breakthrough,,... to Planina pri Sevnici, Podsreda castle... Paths properly soaked, muddy and on a larger part of the path showers ,,showered,, me and at the end already proper rain... The whole path was a novelty, because I only knew the starting point Lesično. Extreme points today, on the east Lesično 311 m and on the west Veliki Javornik 1024 m. Regards bruny

After three, four days I can say... Yes, nice is the world of Kozjansko and not just because from mother's side I come from the Kozjansko part of Slovenia. The part between Planina and Lesično somehow stands out the most, as it is the most populated on the whole path. Friendly locals ready for a chat, a word of encouragement and also some advice was certainly welcome. Šentvid pri Planini definitely an interesting and nice village and along with Zagorje the most prominent. The part on Bohor somewhat solitary, but it runs in a more pristine natural environment. Terrains varied and it is no surprise that some good runners come from there... Hiking return in a somewhat longer and fully circular combination with a new eastern starting point for Bohor and optimal combination of three paths that mark this world - Zasavska, 14th division and MR path definitely a challenge for the future and additional insight into the eastern world of Bohor and surroundings. Regards bruny

I would hike Bohor with my son. Starting point at Planina pri Sevnici where I would park, from there to Skalica all the way to Raskože. There turn to the hut on Bohor and back to the starting point. According to the map, the whole path is marked. Can someone tell me exactly where on Planina the path starts? Is it under the castle, by the cemetery? Thanks for the reply.

For this year's May 1st hike we chose Bohor. At five a.m. we started at Stara žaga below Planina pri Sevnici. First peak was Skalica from which a nice view opens to the west. We continued to V. Javornik, Hut on Bohor and Plešivec. From Plešivec we descended into the forest and got off the path. With GPS, map and encouragement from many nettles, just before Brest we stepped back onto the marked path. We continued to Oslica, some km further at a small quarry we had enough and turned back. We also visited Debeli vrh and Koprivnik, and descended back towards Stara žaga. The path is well marked, from Brest onwards there are nice views in all directions. On Oslica and further towards Kozje, in sunny weather it was truly paradisiacal. Flora and fauna are rich, saw two roe deer, quite a few mice, huge amounts of wild garlic. All in all, it added up to 27 km in eight hours and 1600 m of elevation gain. The impression was spoiled by engine noise, obviously local idiots vent their frustrations here, everywhere full of bike tracks, no prohibition signs.

Today again on Bohor. Car parked in Dobrava (parking for Bojavnica). First half hour of the path runs along the stream, all the way to Jablanica. Pity the path is not marked. But it is visible that people walk a lot here. From Jablanica onwards standard, path nicely marked and met quite a few people. Back on the same path.
