I completely agree with the above article by Zebdi.
I've been quite "lucky" so far, as I've never had to complain about anything. And we've been ordering online for quite a while.nasmeh

Zebdi, Subaru - you've convinced me. Probably there's more order and honesty out there than at home.

If you want a good down jacket that will last a long time with Pertex breathable and durable material, European quality down, then take Rab.
For those 100 eur difference between a good or bad down jacket, you'll be grateful over the years. http://rab.equipment/ww/shop/men/down-insulation
Rab synthetic insulation http://rab.equipment/ww/shop/men/synthetic-insulation

Hi, this year's cold mornings and evenings have made me think about buying a down jacket, what do you recommend. I'd buy something I can use both in town and for hills, climbing etc..
Thanks!

Last year I bought one like that, women's, https://www.intersport.si/jack-wolfskin-helium-men-moska-pohodna-jakna-16891, on sale for 100 €, it's great.

I don't wear down jackets. But I have a good thermal long-sleeve shirt, warm hiking hoodie shirt, running winter jacket or hunter's thermofleece and over it a Pinewood jacket for walks; I have dog sports. For hikes where pockets aren't key, I have some warm coat, filling is synthetic polyester, lining thermofleece, outside don't know material. But the coat is warm and was among the more expensive winter/non-ski ones. I also have winter long johns under warm winter pants, thermal socks and until now very warm hiking boots that after 6 years started leaking (I didn't care well for them, and mid-price range water and snow took toll). As needed I put single-use heaters in boots and gloves or those you can boil for reactivation.... So equipped I could stand in cold for longer even at rest (kinology trainings where you're observer longer, dog meanwhile warm tethered). Oh yeah... not really hiking, but I got it last year for dog walking. Work one, Dunlop, very warm. Grateful to it when last year at -17 in wind and snow I walked the dog (young bitch who doesn't feel cold). This one cost me around 30 eur. https://sl.sportsdirect.com/dunlop-full-zip-checked-hoody-mens--634027?colcode=63402703
