Spring is awakening and it's time to start building fitness for the two-thousanders. So I decide to do a shorter hike to the Čemšenik hut and onwards to the 1129 m high peak Baba.
I park at the outflow of the Čemšenik stream into the Kokra and at the bridge head into the Čemšenik stream gorge along which first on the right side and at the end also on the left side runs a pleasant little path that leads us to the path above. At the bridge on the left side under the overhanging rock there is a nice resting corner with benches. From the road above the entrance to the gorge is not marked. In a good forty minutes we are at the pleasant Čemšenik hut. Right behind the hut to the left is the path to Baba. This is an unmarked pleasant path to a lesser known peak in the vicinity of the more known Potoška gora, Javorjev vrh and Jakob. The path is well arranged, partly a bit steep. From the hut to the top of Baba we made it in forty minutes. Just before the top we come to a quite large bare plain with a pleasant holiday hut even with a WC. Then one more minute uphill and we are on the Baba ridge, where there is a little box with the summit book - no stamp. The path was dry. In snowy conditions winter gear and good knowledge of the path is needed.

heh, I was also (partly) on this path here, just didn't go to baba but then from cemsenik hut to javorov vrh. Met a middle-aged gentleman while ascending, on the way back 2 guys with bikes on shoulders, I think descent towards preddvor followed  . It was nice and the path was practically dry, at least to where I went. Didn't go further to cjanovco (was too late) started from kokre at 14.45

Friend's night shift limited us today, so no chance to dash somewhere much higher . And Mojca knows the warden at Čemšenik hut, so we finally decided-idea was to circle around here for quite some time back-to go this time . More for maintaining fitness and finding some new peaks we haven't been to. Some visitors at Čemšenik, at Baba haha, just us, except weekenders in the lower hut. If we had time-yeah, but night shift called again -we'd go to Javorjev vrh too, which unlike Baba doesn't offer such nice views. Path is steep in some parts, gotta say, but all the more scenic and wonderful...and of course easy to follow, though not marked. In such nice weather you forget the steepness, all effort rewarded at top with great view to yeah, hopefully reached this year Grintovec, Kočni, Kalški greben and Krvavec with Zvoh . Around here there are quite a few such "humps" worth visiting, though true nothing marked . Anyway, today was nice, even though we weren't that high. Maybe midweek it'll be completely different....yeah, I wish...From my mouth to...where was it...GOD'S EARS.

That's how it was here on Thursday 6.9. Nice short trip from Spodnja Kokra to Čemšenik Hut and on to Baba. Hut open on weekends.
Trip for those who want peace and quiet in the mountains. No time this time, unfortunately, to extend to Potoška gora and Javorjev vrh.

Today after a long time in three on Baba. Then continued along the ridge towards Potoška, halfway turned onto the panoramic path. Descent past the Čemšenik hut (open weekends), which has new wardens and excellent food. Recommended

Zoran, thanks You wrote well, I really got my fix, what else are we but mountain addicts Gotta make the most of it till the 23rd, if they lock us down again. If you sneak around (I admit I did a few times), it's just not the same, you feel like a filthy criminal. Hope your region will be "free" soon too. Good luck to you too

On Sunday first time to Čemšenik hut, which has no connection to Čemšenik pasture in Zasavje. From Čemšenik hut onwards to Baba, then partly on the new panoramic path. Some roses, unfortunately foggy on Sunday. Offer at the hut excellent. Thanks to our little rose for the new trip...

Yes, Polona today much nicer. Although, if an hour ago I looked towards those hills, all closed in. At least from here it looked that way.
lilyd, you're right. Weather was forecasted nicer for Saturday than Sunday, then exactly the opposite. Interesting, same path same day, you probably in the morning, us in the afternoon. Maybe sometime somewhere we meet again.

Ločanka, yes, this time on the same path, you two in the afternoon, us in the morning. I hope we'll meet sometime after a long time.... The path on that part wasn't obstructed, obviously the works were elsewhere.
