I think not yet, especially the last part before the ascent to the summit, it could still be very avalanche-prone.

There are tracks from one (or two) ski tourers. Yesterday I went on foot – up to the summit of Vitranc it was relatively OK, but on the descent from the Vitranc summit it sank in deeply – so I turned back.

I went on Saturday but turned back because at the viewpoint bench I met a hiker who assured me that further on it was no longer tracked and you sink up to the waist. I went from the direction of Lake Jasna.

Today for the first time on Ciprnik. Thrilled with the views along the trail, the peace, and the steepness that clears the lungs. nasmeh

Beautiful spots that I'll visit again in autumn when the larches turn golden.

Boštjan isn't tempted by ćevapčiči at the highest level this year, Darko watched the jumps live yesterday, the other potential candidates prefer to follow the competition from the couch. I had no choice but to go alone to this theater box. I approach via the partially snow-covered Podkoren ski slope, check if anything is smoking from the chimney of the new Mojca hut and hurry along the ridge to Ciprnik. Up there already quite a few spectators nicely settled in the snow. Soon after me a group with ćevapčiči arrives – it smelled great. Zajc fell, Peter flew a bit shorter, but we still took silver, the second round didn't happen because of the wind. No big deal. That much earlier I'm sitting by the stove in the renovated hut, treating myself to game goulash. Down towards Jasna and I make a big loop, the weather held. Crampons stayed in the backpack, lots of blooming hellebores along the trail. At Dani's a dren, two beers were plenty...
Next year of course again, especially if Peter changes his mind nasmeh

During the drive in convoy through Rute. At least three are planned this year too.

Planica has taken them around the world. Ponce.

The Mojstrovkas are slightly enveloped in mists.

Something similar between Špik and Škrlatica.

Jalovec did not appear even for a moment.

Even quarter of an hour after canceling the second run, no one hurried home.

There are huge obstacles on the ridge path. Including this gigantic, at least four cubic meters large spruce.

Ciprnik 4.3.2025
Parked at -6°C in Kranjska Gora. Towards Lake Jasna and then right on the marked trail to Vitranc. Start was bare and dry, higher up on the south side icy and slippery. I put on mini-crampons.
Towards Mojca's hut soft snow, juicy. Onwards to Vitranc and along the ridge to the point where the steep ascent to Ciprnik begins. Plenty of snow and the final part of the climb is demanding in places. At the top sunshine and of course wonderful views. On the descent we agree to go down to the jumping valley. Steep descent and caution needed in spots. Just before the hut with the best view of the action below we take off the crampons. Ice balls are forming.
A few more minutes of steep descent and we're in the jumping valley. Now at least 6 km of asphalt and gravel back to Kranjska Gora await us. That last section was quite tiring for me. zavijanje z očmi

After this section you pass to the shady side and it is quite slippery

After 16 km and 7 hours 30 min back at the start

Today hike to Ciprnik, return via Vitranc and past Mojčin dom (closed). Via ski slope to starting point, nice day for hiking, just no views. nasmeh

Today, 28.10.2025 I was on Ciprnik, great weather and magnificent views. Went from Podkoren via polygon, where I also like to ski. In the video I showed one run on the polygon from this year, Feb 3. BestA

This weekend is the end of the ski-jumping season and as every year, again in Planica. Crowds don't appeal to me, the ticket price even less, so I head to my theater box, 800 meters above the event site.
To avoid crowds on the road, I start at half past six, but there was already a queue well before the highway exit, so I drive from there to Podkoren, where I park for at least another hour and a quarter. jezen

Backpack on my shoulders and up the ski slope. Snow is proper, short break at Mojčin dom, the sun is already shining strongly. While walking along the ridge over Vitranc, I'm slightly worried about the very weak track of predecessors, which was justified just before the goal. Despite the late start and queue on the road, for the first time I experienced having to break trail on the last part of the path, snow up to half a meter. I knew I'd miss the first series of jumps, no big deal, as the guys were well below their average today. In the next half hour, about eighteen youngsters trickled in, including the well-known group that regularly grills čevapčiči.
I watched the girls and Nika's victory at home, as there were no obstacles on the road. I hope Domen recovers by tomorrow and shows what he knows again.

I reach the top of Ciprnik only after the second failed Oblak jump.

Only by the shadow of the jumper can one tell when he landed.

So much snowfall in the last few days, yet snow is only on the ski jump.

Soon after my arrival, it became lively at the top.

Fantastic views. Špik and Lipnica, behind it Martuljški Ponci, to the right Visoki Rokav.

When it was our jumper's turn, the Horun cheering of the thirty-thousand-strong crowd of spectators echoed right to us.

The drivers of these little horses certainly didn't drive in a convoy.

One last time this fantastic scenery from the ridge a bit lower.

Environmentalists are exaggerating again, as Mojčin dom will have to close its doors for a few months due to the romantic obligations of these little roosters.

Down the ski slope - the upper two-thirds of the piste are still in excellent snow condition...

On Saturday a quick trip to Ciprnik through the Pišnica valley to the hunting hut. Then it gets a bit more tricky on snow and steep slope searching for the hunting path under the snow. In winter I don't recommend this variant, but rather the classic way past Mojčing homestead on Vitranc.
