...Nice panoramic peak. In these summer months the trail is dry, no wet roots and it's easily accessible. Just head out cheerfully, good luck

Majdag we met though, you two with the dog were going down we up. With us there was a Maltese. It's really a pleasant path, peace and quiet and from the top gorgeous views...

I was on Ciprnik on Sunday - really beautiful views, but quite a steep path to Vitranc, then along the ridge onwards it's a really nice stroll

On Saturday, 5.10.2013, on top of Ciprnik The view of the surrounding peaks was obstructed by clouds. This path is regularly marked and also signposted with direction signs, so I don't know why it's marked here on hribi as unmarked. So no panic about getting lost I recommend it for a family trip You can see pictures from the hike on the website of the Mountaineering Society Matica Murska Sobota: http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/20131005-ciprnik/dom-v-planici-zadaj-ciprnik/21166878

This nice approach to Ciprnik has been marked for a long time, so it's a marked path.

...Past the hut in Planica.... There's little snow down below, but it's icy. The higher we climb, the more there is. The path is nicely trodden all the way to the top. The fixed protections are in rather poor condition, those that can be seen. Mostly under snow. At the top new box with logbook. We didn't notice the stamp, maybe under snow somewhere. I recommend microspikes

Kranjska Gora-Jasna, still in the dark I start the ascent along the ridge to Vitranc, snow started around 1200 meters, more with increasing height. Along the ridge there was a track, before the Ciprnik summit the track ended, the predecessor slightly strayed, I continued further. There was huge amounts of snow, over waist-deep, barely digging through it, lower down more southern snow. I reach the ridge to the forepeak and turn back there, too much snow, too dangerous, I was wet. I descend the way I came and drive further to Dovje and Borovlje, starting point fork for Kepa-Dovška Baba.

Today ascent to Ciprnik. Started a bit later but not my fault. Morning still frozen. Track made to Vitranc, further I went with snowshoes on skier tracks. Sank to 5 cm. From Planica direction no hiker tracks, only skier skied down there. For last ascent need to remove snowshoes because too steep, there sank to knees. Due to late hour snow became wet and I had some trouble. For last slope need ice axe and crampons. Views unique, few like that. Lp Miro.

On Saturday, 24.5., I climbed to Ciprnik. Start in front of Jasna, then past Mojčin dom, Dom na Vitrancu and Vitranc top to Ciprnik. Back to Kranjska Gora I descended past cable cars and ski slope. Conditions were super for walking, views slightly disturbed only by clouds on highest peaks. Very nice tour, with beautiful views, recommend.

Yesterday to Ciprnik from Planica via hunter's path. Due to fog no nice views - will have to go another time. Path is nice and well visible, from junction to abandoned path to Planica it is marked, which comes in handy. Just at the junction to the abandoned path lots of fallen trees - no panic, just a bit of crawling needed.

Does nobody go by the hunter's path?

Most walk the hunter's path - it starts behind the Olympic center. Abandoned path joins the hunter's. From Planica to the junction on hunter's ca 250 m elevation. They say it is very hard, if not even dangerous. Given that the hunter's is so nicely laid, we don't need other paths.

I think because of the neatness. I also like the hunter's paths as they are something special, no bogeyman mentioned. Lp
