Nice description. This is my Sunday running tour, just starting in Prebold - Žvajga - Reška planina, then as described. Peaceful and scenic, suitable for all seasons and weather.

Short Sunday afternoons are perfect for known nearby hillocks. In the described circular from Prebold I skipped Potoški vrh and hut, but added the easternmost part of this ridge (as viewed from Žvajga, not shown on the map). On Reška planina paths are nicely newly marked. Towards Gradišče quite a scramble down the unmarked ridge path and then the known ascent. Dvoglava Planinica in real life is not particularly prominent as it looks from the highway, also the elevation to Strnišče is much more than if skipping it from Tolsti vrh. Towards Trbovčku some logging but it doesn't bother the path. After four hours I wanted to check Prebold directly past the ruins as geppo described somewhere, but knees said enough

Morning +2C and nice sunny morning
Park at Druškovič and then along the ridge to unnamed peak. From there to Žvajga and along the ridge further to Počivalnik. Continue along the ridge to Tolsti vrh 756m asl. Descend to the saddle connecting the ridge and to Strnik 845m asl. Past Železnik's hut along forest road to Lipovšek. Descend to meadows below the road. Potoški hrib (peak 734 m asl) I skip and descend very steep ridge to Škarje. From there some asphalt and done in 4 hours/cck. 11km at start.

I didn't know that Gradišče (763m) offers such a nice climbable ridge and hidden circular trail... Really nice spring weather. lp

That part where you roamed I haven't walked yet. My gaze wandered right to the rocky crags jutting between the trees. I noticed that when descending directly from Reška planina and then past Laznik to Gradišče. But I was always in a hurry and never turned right from the ridge to check closer. Saved it in memory. No devil, I'll go wandering around here sometime...

Thanks! Nice 2nd pic Zlatko, actually from the side shows whole ridge. Cico - I parked directly under pic 6. You mentioned some clearing somewhere, so I went to check it. But it was so lonely there that if I met you coming out of the woods, I'd get downright scared, despite the sun lp

Today after a long time repeated the variant
Druškovič - unnamed peak - Žvajga - Tolsti vrh - Strnik - Reška planina - Gradišče - Druškovič
The only difference: I didn't do the ridge descent from Reška planina (descended to Dom pod Reško pl.) and from Gradišče descended my own way. The variant to the end of the ridge (direct to Druškovič) would be better, even though very steep. Encountered quite nasty steepness, which was much longer than direct from the ridge.
So still better the marked path or to the end of the ridge and then steep descent, which isn't as long as the one I did today.

Žvajga/Tolsti vrh/Strnik/Reška/Gradišče
Trail dry most part without muddy base.
Nice sunny day without wind. Temperature over 10C. Ticks have woken from winter sleep!

Cold trip, just under 6 hours in good company. From Druškovič to Druškovič. Direction direct to ridge - Podbregar - Gradišče - past hut and along road to saddle between Škrabarjem and Reška and then back to summit on marked trail. Descent characteristically past Strnik, Tolsti vrh and both Žvajgas and steep back to car. Not too much snow, most idyllic on north side of Reška planina, frozen and trodden quite good. Direct (off-trail) to Reška we skipped due to sliding. Our nearby areas are beautiful, just need to take enough fitness always with you Well, today it held without issues. As per bad habit didn't take pics lp

That ascent would be quite tough at this time - direct to Reška
Next time take the mobile at least to take some pics

Right although elsewhere it often wasn't much better. We found a term for little snow and concrete frozen base under it - walking on baked crust mobi was there, but owner has to change. Don't know, lately really enjoying observing nature. Nice to share something and have for memory. Next time... lp

Second first and short pathless terrain is a habit, even if the schedule is so tight So I went for a walk on Gradišče. Slightly changed the approach directions on the ridge to explore something new. And on the way back checked the walls on the left side in the ascent direction. Really nice here. Some idea will probably be realized this month if it stays dry. Safe into the new year!
