Obviously the gent on the pic has lots of courage and self-confidence. That grows with experience. Subtract gear, strength, fitness,... it's all in the head.. mežikanjemežikanjemežikanje

This I think is a worse system than nothing, cuz it takes just as much attention while crossing, making it dangerous (since safety is questionable)! velik nasmeh

Yes, true, the harder the path, the bigger role the head plays...

Meta, you were right to pull the pics. Forum purpose is sharing experiences with those who haven't done the tour. When the pics are used by armchair Slovenians, maybe not just you..according to one statement..to check from feet to head and figure out/comment on what's tied aside and what's wrong, I think they lose value...by the way....to all commenters..this gent dragged us over rocks to Vevnica some 8 years ago, not just regulars with him. Knows how to help and be a real mountaineer!!!

Thanks mojcika for your comment with which I completely agree...what do you want...the purpose of the post was completely different. In the future I'll write my impressions only in my own notebook like in previous years jezik

It was late, foggy, drizzling, rock icy, via ferrata cable too - in short, you don't hike in such conditions, dude.

This autumn really gifts days nasmehMorning drive in the sun on our side of Karawanks, on Austrian side fogs. At the starting point around half past nine and after a good half hour also on this side beautiful weather formed. Fogs disappeared, blue showed up. Via ferrata almost to the top of course in shade, which didn't disturb the pleasures of ascent. Rocks are dry, snow practically none. Cjajnik just invites last visitors of this season nasmeh

Today was a really nice day for visiting the mountains, but hot, hoteek and hot once more. Already on the ascent in the morning hours over the scree above the hut under Košuta towards the climbing area on Cjajnik, the sun heated my son and me strongly. Although we expected the path to be still in shade in the morning, we were seriously mistaken. The whole wall is slightly turned towards the east and the sun rays reach it nicely. Adrenaline and demanding climbing contributed somewhat to the feeling of heat, as this path isn't just anything, the peak difficulty reaches towards the top, as we chose the harder "D" variant. Well, from Cjajnik we descended towards the notch on the adrenaline-inducing via ferrata cable. Here climbing was at an end for now. There followed an ascent to the ridge top and then a somewhat more relaxed walk to the top of Košutnikov Turn.
For the descent we chose the climbing path OTK Steig Neu. This path is much easier than that to Cjajnik. Its specialty is the hanging bridge and I recommend everyone wandering around there to walk on it, as it's a special experience you can taste only rarely in the mountains.
So very nice and demanding climbing fun, no snow patches on the path anymore, but it would be smart to choose a bit cooler weather.

The closure notice is also posted at the parking lot by the Koschutahaus hut.

Yes, the path is officially closed. Yesterday (8. 7.) the hut warden told us that the scree leading to the base of the wall is unstable. Since we were already there and ready for the ascent, we decided anyway to go check the scree to see how it looked. On the left side of the scree there are visible traces of collapse, but that part is quite far from the path leading to the base of Cjajnik, which is on the right side of the scree. So we crossed the scree, specifically the lower part. The crossing was, except for the unpleasant uphill walk on the scree, completely without problems. This was followed by the ascent to Cjajnik, which was pure enjoyment for me. Excellently secured climbing path, which is of course suitable only for well psychophysically prepared hikers with proper equipment (helmet, via ferrata set, gloves).

@sportnick, you're brave. Path officially closed, you just go to Cjajnik. Nonchalantly, as if bans don't apply. And abroad too. And if something happened???? Sorry, but extremely unwise action!
