CYCLING PATH route Dravograd - Mislinja
|
| jany19801. 12. 2011 08:23:59 |
Cycling path that is still under construction (only the section between Dravograd and Mislinja completed). No snow yet, but using this path is dangerous due to black ice. After yesterday's walk between Slovenj Gradec and Mislinja I was sliding most of the way! Problematic are sections in shady spots! So black ice all from Mislinja to Turiška vas-there the sunny side melts it. Safe steps!

Thanks for the warning jany, I think there's no hero who would ride a bike at this time, although I occasionally see someone on a bike , otherwise even when walking you need to be careful as jany already wrote. Otherwise this bike path is really great, practically you ride carefree all the way from Mislinja to Otiški vrh, then that part to Dravograd is a bit problematic again, but far from as bad as through Huda luknja. But I wonder more and more often if the bike path section between Mislinja and Velenje is also part of the III. development axis project, namely nothing moves, exactly where the bike path should be, i.e. through Huda luknja, is the most dangerous. Just one huge rock needs to break off and crash down on the road to scare them all a bit (guys from MO Velenje ), because it's more critical on the Velenje side.

About MO Velenje and Mislinja municipality we could open a new thread again and discuss there.... As far as I know, the bike path between Celje and Celovec (old trade route) should be built by 2024. Austrians already have it arranged from Celovec to the border! Here it's like... ...EU money comes, something gets built, the rest the hungry municipal pigs gobble up... Yeah Hribovc88 I'm curious what will happen in spring. Namely some excavators and material are already in front of the entrance to Huda luknja (in the tunnel that was once walled up). Otherwise it's my area and if anyone is interested in viewing 8 caves in that hill write to me pm... 2 are open for viewing, for 3 you need a key

Yeah, we could discuss, just like you wrote... Oh you even hope that we can ride through that tunnel already in spring, let me tell you, as long as those reds are in power there will be neither bike path nor III. development axis, which anyway will never happen or at least not in foreseeable time About the tunnel, did you mean that one where they used to grow mushrooms (champignons) inside About cave viewing I'm definitely interested, my dad often tells how they once as kids went into a cave, then barely got out because they had only one flashlight, and then lost that too and got out only by miracle... I still remember those times (as if I'm 100 years old ), when they organized live nativity, yeah those were times, really nice atmosphere with mulled wine, well I was still a bit too green for wine then , but hot tea suited too, as I remember it was very cold

We won't ride through those sections next year either... Even the main road isn't safe anymore there! Patrol service from CP Celje is there 3-5x a day to clear all rocks that crash onto the road. For viewing write me a PM to coordinate time and way on foot. Up there is a very branched ridge system so prepare for some longer steps Otherwise for snake lovers-here vipers roam between June and August so I recommend to the gentler sex to visit late autumn or winter

And do you know that a hermit lived in Huda luknja, who was supposedly unhappy in love. He wrote poems and they still supposedly circulate among people. Maybe someone knows something.

If someone is from there they should know about the "BLACK WIDOW", who appeared there. Somewhere around the 1980s. A lot was also written in newspapers where stories circulated. Stories were told by drivers to whom she sat at night. So that this one doesn't chase you too, besides all the above described nuisances.... lp

čemaž yes, there was also talk about the hermit. But more than bones of cave bear and prehistoric people they haven't found yet But in this gorge.... Well, it could be called Barbarin rov too-many workers who dug tunnels and were crazy shot themselves and buried. That's all about the black history of this gorge

You're probably too young to know about it Short description: rumors circulated among drivers that she stopped them in foggy night (time was like now - then you know the conditions )woman in black (hence the name "black widow" ). She prophesied terrible, bloody future and then mysteriously disappeared from the car. Newspapers wrote about it later too. That attracted me and two more "adventurers" to go check on site In Mislinja we ended up in a tavern (right by the road - you probably know it )at late hour.... drank some beers and returned towards Velenje in foggy night (visibility pure 0 ). We had a bit of "goosebumps" anyway, but all returned home without consequences. Fog was such that "black widow" would have to jump on the hood to notice her. That's why and because of the beers we missed her.... so I didn't bore you with this story (but it's true ) lp

geppo it is true. I'm not so young anymore that I wouldn't know it. But I don't write something I haven't seen, I don't believe rumors because every woman makes an elephant out of a fly Something is true, it was written like that... But it could also be invention to attract visitors. Only this gorge stood until 1965-then the last train went through it. Since then not much has moved http://www.speleos-siga.org/huda%20luknja/HUDA%20LUKNJA%20narava.htm

Hey, Jany! A couple years ago on a rainy day I also wandered around there. I don't remember those green signs from your photo. But I know I went steeply up through bushes and reached two more caves (holes). When I descended back to the road, I spotted some "mess" and rusted doors somewhere on the other side of the gorge above the road. Of course I climbed up there and then walked inside one tunnel. I have to say it was quite uncomfortable, and it seemed I would find some corpse So I'd ask you, is that your so-called "Barbarin rov"? What were they actually digging there? A month ago I drove this road towards Koroška again, but I just couldn't spot those rusted doors?!?!?!

On the other side of Tisnik there are quite a few tunnels, which are carefully locked (supposedly still weapons from WWII inside). You can reach the entrance via a rusty ladder but unfortunately not. In 1991 the army filled these bunkers with explosives to block the gorge by mining if there was any movement of JNA armored vehicles towards Koroška... Thank God it wasn't necessary - the ecosystem in that part is very diverse. Here I encountered snakes (smooth snake, viper), roe deer, chamois, ibex, mouflon, scorpions in caves, bats, bedbugs,... Exceptional place also for botanists "Barbarin rov" is my imaginary farce, because a massacre took place in this area during the war. Some are also dead from digging the tunnels. We know Barbarin rov near Celje - but for me it's the same... we walk on the dead and don't even know. On the other side of the entrance to Huda luknja there is a monument dedicated to the dead and killed during the digging of the tunnels. You can find and read more about it on the web if anyone is interested. best regards

I know about the real Barbarin rov. But for these tunnels here, I'm interested if anyone "takes care" of them. Those rusty doors were just ajar back then, that's why I could get inside. But I didn't go far, because the flashlight was poor, and one part was flooded, so I didn't go further. The monument you mention, is it the one under that overhang?

The monument is under the overhang. I'll go for another tour this weekend... @sla you gave me a good idea, because the right side hides some surprises
