Ada, sorry you're mistaken. No regulation says dogs can't be in mountain huts, restaurants etc.. It only says that if food is served, you must get permission from every guest in the room that they agree to dog's presence.
At ours, on Lisca dogs are welcome in entrance area as well as at bar, but no entry to dining room! We had inspection already because of that, since little fluffies got up someone's nose, but sadly or luckily didn't get what he wanted. Inspector just said what I wrote above, drank coffee and left nasmeh

Here I speak up too.. mostly it's a problem to go with pooch even on day trip say in winter, cos they don't let you in hut. Difference our neighbours, big sign- dogs forbidden, but owner himself invited me in.
I have miniature pinscher like predecessors who spoke in this debate.
Can say that at Zlenica they let in hut no problem, Osolnik one of those too, hut in Krnica, and more could be found.

But do we have to say it nth time: if hut, pub, restaurant owner... has clearly written at entrance dog entry forbidden, then no and amen. If nothing written then allowed and staff can't object!

True that dogs no entry to PZS huts (if Lisca hut private different). If inspector state then from state view really nothing wrong, if from PZS then should note violation.

VanSims, wonder why dog bothers you so much, mostly those pooches that are socialized in huts and make no problems unlike many guests who often too loud and very disturbing to other hut visitors zmeden

Better pitch your tent farther from the huts, as I'm not sure the keepers would happily watch "camp space" in front of the hut. And then better not post it on the net. Big brother of supervisors is watching...

@mukica: it's not about whether they disturb or not. I just said how it is by law.

And such dogs don't disturb me anymore, even more sometimes I even pet one, because I've gotten quite used to them. Since they used to disturb me too and I was afraid of them, I can understand people who they disturb. As I wrote above, reasons are different, not necessarily fear.

Definitely dogs are not for mountain huts. At home let everyone do as they please, mountain hut is a gathering place for many people, some may fear dogs, some dogs are uneducated and will run also in the kitchen where food is prepared.
Then dogs will, because many dog owners are uneducated, lie on beds too. It would be good if somewhere by the hut there was a space where the dog could sleep sheltered.

One hundred mad, one hundred wonders...
VanSims, first time I hear that if the hut is "property" of PZS, dogs can't enter. Is that written in some "rulebook"? Well, otherwise Lisca is not property of PZS, but municipality and the inspector was from the state.
But I think it depends on the keeper/tenant whether they decide to allow dogs entry to the hut or not. If they decide no, it's done (as already said) with a sign on the door, if not, then otherwise.
I notice there are always fewer "dogs entry forbidden" signs on doors of pubs, shops, ... etc. And I welcome that. Animal is a living being and who doesn't like animals, doesn't like people!

Bernard, one thing is allowing dog entry to "pub" where it can rest by the table and keep "company" to its owner, another is it running around the kitchen etc. which of course mustn't, because there's food there... etc.

Otherwise, I have two dogs at home and both sleep with us on the bed as well as sofa. Am I thus uneducated owner or animal lover providing them comfort, love, play, ...?

Huts were built for safe shelter from weather hardships that can surprise a hiker on his way. Unfortunately huts are becoming taverns, hikers prey for profit.
Under another topic you can read what all happens in these huts. Heavily drunk and rowdy crowd of revelers late into the night. With such behavior they continue in sleeping quarters too. There it escalates so much that it even comes to threats of physical reckoning. Of course the victim is the hiker who wanted to sleep "peacefully" in the hut.
And who does all that? People, that rational and clean being, well brought up and knows how to behave in a hut where many gather. And example of a model who thinks he's god on earth and climbs the tower on top of Triglav. All proud of his deed waving the flag of the country he belongs to. Goes so far as to post his deed on some other website. Meaning, in a moment he trampled three things, cultural monument, respect for the mountain he climbed, and on top mocks the flag too.
There is no bigger degenerate on earth than man, then you'll turn up noses over dogs in mountain huts.
Keep those high mountain taverns if you want. Nothing beats a snack on some scenic summit in pleasant company or solitude, doesn't matter. A few raindrops and some wind and we "fair weather" hikers survive too, no devil. We are on terrain in valley in any weather too.
But I won't stay silent when someone writes how uneducated dogs are, people are the problem. Even where the dog isn't as claimed, man is guilty.

Pikica if you knew what all animals are capable of. I like animals too but our local goatherd has shaken that love quite a bit. What all they are capable of. Murder from jealousy, mobbing literally to death of weaker herd member, greed,... Now comp is broken so I'll halfwrite more later.

My opinion is that this with dogs has gone a bit too far already. Simply they've been socialized too much lately, which even cynologists warn about. But I have nothing against dogs, quite the opposite. Because I live in an apartment block I don't have one and for one reason: I pity a dog in a closed space and I think taking it out a few times a day isn't enough for it (of course depends on breed).
In mountain huts I'm not exactly thrilled that dogs would go into huts, especially not into spaces where food is served and slept. Why? Because of owners and their inability to control their four-legged friends. Of course not for all, but sadly there are very few capable owners who respect others too. I have nothing against if a dog is somewhere under the table or by it with owner, but from experience I know many aren't like that, but walk among guests. For some it's simply unpleasant or they fear dogs. And then only lacks the owner with classic: "Well why fear it, it won't do you anything!" Sorry, but I don't know your dog and don't know how it reacts, and no owner will tell me he knows his dog 100%. I believe you can know it very well, but dog is still a dog and has its quirks (like humans too, since both living beings).
What you do at home is your business and I don't care, but when you come elsewhere, just consider you're not alone and different rules apply than at home.
But I agree it could be nicely arranged and a part of the hut dedicated also for those with dog friends.
Woof!

Well written Gregor.

Problem is most owners raise their dog and treat it like human. Dog is animal and behaves as such.

I used to have a dog (shepherd).

And then if it applies to dogs, can I show up with a Vietnamese potbellied pig and an iguana too? They are very well-behaved and don't do anything.

....go ahead curse me, here it is...
Otherwise I agree with Gregor. This furry one has been many places already, I don't take him to huts, outside he finds a suitable spot and we enjoy.
