Between Kokrško sedlo and Skuta they found the body of a 24-year-old mountaineer. Police determined that he slipped while sliding on scree and sustained such severe injuries that he died.

Today on Dolgi hrbet from the lower cableway station to Češka koča, to Mlinarsko sedlo and to the summit, and back the same way. Wonderful tour, with a very early start a large part of the path in shade, the path dry, except for one snow patch, which can easily be crossed or bypassed.... Interesting... this year so far only 16 entries in the logbook... Češka koča will be open permanently from Saturday...

if it's all dry on Kredarica--even on Triglav there's only a little snow,,how could long ridge have snow then? look back a bit on forum conditions e.g. Skuta

Yesterday with friends on the route Ravenska Kočna - Czech Hut - Mlinarsko sedlo (Frischauf path) - Long Ridge - Skuta - Koroška Rinka - Kranjska Hut - Slovenian path - Ravenska Kočna.
For the whole route I can say it's marked and normally passable, maybe the marks on Long Ridge need some paint. No official notice on top or at the bottom entrance about the closure of the path to Skuta anywhere, although the rock still hangs nicely. Descent from Koroška Rinka is at one's own risk, because the path is not maintained, notice is at the bottom entrance, didn't see it on top.
Otherwise nice day with sun and clouds around.

I agree, very poorly marked, or faded marks, today a group of French behind me got lost, thank God they made it up. About their gear though no words wasted... eek

So, the SPT (SPP) section is no longer maintained?!?
But important that every hiking club has a control stamp in its hut...

Start "Finally" velik nasmeh

Friday afternoon and ascent to Cojzo hut, where I overnighted. Yesterday almost circular: C. hut, bivouac under Grintovec, Long Ridge, Skuta and on return also Štruca, bivouac and hut.
Weather yesterday ideal, sunny with short cloud periods and some wind to "kill" the heat. BP path, fixed gear in OK condition; maybe need to refresh marks over Long Ridge a bit. Lots of hikers.
Today, due to rainy weather and slippery path, descent from Kokrško sedlo was a bit strenuous.

Dolgi hrbet from a slightly different viewpoint.

Yesterday ascent to Long Ridge from Ravenska Kočna. To Czech hut (past cable car), over annoying scree to wall under Mlinarsko sedlo. From saddle on to top of Long Ridge and back same way. The path the whole time in cloud, no views.
Nice tour, but harder part from Ravni scree to Mlinarsko sedlo is quite annoying. Technically not very demanding but lots of scree...

Start Ravenska Kočna, over Frischauf to Mlinarsko sedlo and on over Long Ridge to Skuta with detour to Štruca. Back to Mlinarsko over screes under south wall of Long Ridge and again over Frischauf to start.

Wonderful day, almost no breeze and clear all day. On top of Skuta it was quite hot.

Morning between Czech hut and Zgornji ravni quite busy, then it thins out: many go right to Kočna, at least two climber groups to wall under Grintovec, rest to Frischauf.

Crossing DH wonderful. That one small overhang deserves via ferrata C rating and might surprise someone.

I was on Skuta this year already exactly one month ago. Then initial descent to Veliki podi seemed easy, but today on path section over screes a bit annoying. Was I more tired this time, or recent storms changed terrain a bit? Or both...

Crossing further over upper screes under cliffs of Long Ridge back to Mlinarsko sedlo was demanding, as erosion (storms?) left clear marks at two spots, path lost and need to find detours below or above around dug-up scree parts. So if someone doesn't like too much pathless and scree, take note... More on attached pics. Mine already protested never again this way to Skuta or back from Skuta nasmeh

. But all forgotten later over beer at Czech hut. cool

One more trifle, path section between Zgornji and Spodnji ravni seemed more broken than 2 years ago when last here. Probably storms left trace there too.

At Czech hut we take long break for snack, beer, coffee and lounging. Descent to start then passed like wink. We were really late, leave among last from parking. So what, sometimes need to take time cool

. After such day hard to say goodbye to these wonderful corners…

In Frischaufova you certainly won't get lost. Kudos to the markers.

...and soon from Mlinarsko sedlo towards Dolgi hrbet.

Up and down amid wonderful views. Patch of high clouds favors us, scorching sun spared us part of the path.

A little further to the summit of Skuta. Surprisingly few visitors today.

From Skuta towards Baba and Rinka. Long break at the summit today. Like being on the beach.

Traverse back towards Mlinarsko sedlo. First we bypassed the fallen trees from the upper side and only then noticed from above that the scree below is trodden around...

Second blowdown. Markers are there, path ahead... None :)

Some more interesting terrain before Mlinarsko sedlo. Otherwise easy here.

Concentration on the descent via Frischaufova. Quite tempting views down :)

How nicely the weather held all day. Sadly, soon time to say goodbye for today...

Start: Ravenska Kočna
From Ravenska Kočna via Slovenian path past Kranjska hut (closed) to Koroška Rinka Skuta, Long Ridge, over Mlinarsko sedlo and past Czech hut to valley.
Path on small ledges from Koroška Rinka poorly traceable, marks very faded. From Skuta on newly painted, also over DH. Over Mlinarsko sedlo as usual, full of scree. nasmeh

Path exposed everywhere.
