Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has recently done the mentioned tour Grintovec - Mlinarsko sedlo - Dolgi hrbet - Skuta and Kokrsko sedlo and what the conditions are like? Especially Dolgi hrbet-Skuta.
Thanks in advance for all info.nasmeh

Fixed protections in good condition, snow there long gone.

On the path bivouac under Skuta - Skuta still 4 snow patches to cross (status 19.7.09). Caution not amiss.

Today on this path (Tovorna Žičnica-Češka k.-Mlinarsko sedlo - Dolgi hrbet - Skuta). Morning frost, at entrance to Frischaufovo two to three meters icy snowfield (pebble in hand and kick steps), fixed gear on whole path ok, newly soaked from rain, on ridge verglas (hey, in August!?eek), some new snow that doesn't cause issues and icy November wind in gusts. Good that much of path is on south side, where it was tolerable, to the top I just went to turn aroundzadrega, also on top of Štruca not much better. No dawdling on grass though. We'll have to like Italians, or what, only go to mountains in afternoon? Return same path, only hour before Češka koča people appeared. And as usual: it was nicenasmeh.
Wet hollow slippery spot, less dangerous on the side1
Wet hollow slippery spot, less dangerous on the side2
One of the signs on the path. Friendly.3
Annoyance in sight, good that it's short. If it's warm, no annoyance.4
Global warming? Yeah, right.5
A bit of view from the path.6
For all who don't like wire ropes and pegs. Which I am, scree in abundance!7
And for those who like protections a bit more.8
This one: you stand and stare. Probably the only one on this path.9
If you get lost here! The path is exemplarily marked. Mlinarsko sedlo, by the way.10
Handles on Dolgi hrbet.11
View from Dolgi hrbet is quite airy. Not much to look around at.12
Pillars, Skuta in the back. They also have a window. Only the image seems to have disappeared.13
Štruca summit, view to Skuta. Even here you can see how it's blowing. BRRR14
The path goes along this ridge. I returned along the lower one.15
If Skuta is nearby, Štruca must be there too.16
Flowers by the path. No romance.17
View back, from the hut onwards. Undoubtedly the best photo of the day. I like it too.18
I wish you the same.19

Today did a full-day tour from Suhadolnik to Zoisova koča, then to bivouac under Grintavec, straight to Mlinarsko sedlo and right to Dolgi Hrbet and Skuta.

Started at six in the morning from Suhadolnik. Always go up to Taško. Still no one has fixed the wooden toilet. Does an accident really have to happen for us to act. Quite quickly at Zoisova koča. One tea and head to bivouac under Grintavec. This time it's empty and not wrapped in fog like a month ago. Take a good look at it. Really spacious, has three rooms-one on top of the other. In the first and second level there are bunks. Head straight to Mlinarsko sedlo and the climbing on Dolgi hrbet. Years ago I climbed it, but forgot how demanding the climbing is. Someone might say to add another piton and marker. For me what's there is fine. The ridge drags on for an hour and a half to Skuta. Then quickly on Skuta. Look at the ice and back, because fog is chasing. On the way back also visit Štruca-ten minutes off main path to the left and you're up. Then through unpleasant rocky terrain between Štruca and Dolgi hrbet down to bivouac and valley. For the tour up and down nine hours. I hike moderately and stop a lot for photos.
Zoisova hut.1
In the morning at seven a beautiful view of Grintavec.2
And also Kalška gora.3
Final goal - Skuta - far right.4
Bivouac below Grintavec.5
Pleasant bivouac comfort for rest and emergency overnight, even with logbook.6
Going to Mlinarsko sedlo and on to Dolgi hrbet.7
The entire ridge of Dolgi hrbet.8
Start of climbing on Dolgi hrbet.9
One example of countless wire ropes.10
Summit of Dolgi hrbet - small inconspicuous box for summit log.11
Fog descends, missing shots of Skuta - glacier remnant below Skuta.12
Fog billows up and down - Skuta summit nears.13

Štruca.15
Short walk on rocks to Štruca summit.16

Didn't see chamois, nor ibex - didn't know they are also in Kamnik-Savinja Alps - no marmots. But saw black newt and several bird species, and lots of edelweiss.

On Saturday there were lots of ibex on the path to Dolgi hrbet, chamois and marmots I met this year under Kočna too.

Tomorrow I'll wander around these parts, hope to meet them somewhere, once I already met a whole herd under Štruca

I'm interested in how long it would take:
Češka koča - Dolgi hrbet - Štruca - Skuta - Mala Rinka - Koroška Rinka - Kranjska koča.
Usually I hike for as long as it says on the signs.

According to descriptions and time estimates on this forum, which are very similar to those on signs, you would spend a total of 10.5 hours on the path. Of course, it all depends on extra stops, weather and ability to keep a steady pace. And be careful on the descent to Ledine.

And in which direction is it easier to walk towards Ledine or towards Češka.

First to Ledine, because it's climbing.... then Rinke-Skuta-Dolgi hrbet-Češka koča, from Češka koča it's an easy path to the valley.

On Wednesday we did the tour cargo cableway-Ledine-Križ Rinka-Skuta-Dolgi hrbet-Kokrsko sedlo-Kalška gora-Kokrsko sedlo where we slept over. The path is ok, safety gear on the path too, and the weather served us. For the whole path we used 10 hours with breaks.

Yeah on Saturday I really saw someone exploring the bivouac under Grintovec nasmeh Time-wise we were with velkavrhom about the same. Tour also similar, though mine a bit reversed and also a jump to Grintovec from Mlinarsko sedlo. But on the way back I really enjoyed martinčkanje in front of Cojzova koča.

Please for an opinion on Dolgi hrbet:
Which path is easier for descent? Descent to Mlinarsko sedlo or on the other side?

Descent from Dolgi hrbet is easier to Mlinarsko sedlo than crossing to Štruca. It's also closer.
