The hut is open every day and will be open also in August and September. The caretakers are very friendly and cook a very good breakfast. Thanks!

also on the PZS page it says: "open until 30 September", but obviously very independent; last week I went from Ljubelj on a half rainy afternoon to the edge of Vrtača and then with the desire for a spoon of hot food down to the Dom pri izviru Završnice. Unpleasantly surprised - doors closed! Nobody anywhere! Same a bit higher at Dom na Zelenici.

Is this the new fashion of individual PD? Officially open, but in practice closed ...

Hut open, food excellent, caretakers very friendly, prices moderate, also possibility of overnight stay which isn't at the hut on Zelenica.....highly recommend visiting this hut

From the green valley today I head to the snow on Zelenica. At the parking lot on Ljubelj there's just a sample of snow. As I ascend the ski slope there's more and more towards the hut on Zelenica, but still too little for skiing. It's ratracked everywhere, pity there's not more snow. Hut is closed. Above the hut I go left towards the hut at Završnica spring. Here starts the powder and I wade almost to my knees. At the end of the ski slope I hit a hardened ski track that doesn't sink and I go on it and somehow arrive flat above the hut. I descend to the hut, which in summer is a pleasant excursion point. Return though through powder from the right side of the hut steeply up the slope.

On the third photo it's a rock cliff named 'Spodnji Plot'. Triangel is just the name for the ski lift. More about how things are named read here.

Šodrovc, thanks! I've now read everything about "Triangel". Indeed climbers also call it wrong. Even my local alpinists say they go climbing to Triangel. I went by Nedeljski's handbook, where it's described as a peak -1688m.

Sunday afternoon from the parking area at Žaga to the hut at Završnica spring. Road on slopes icy, can't stop.
At parking lot at Završnica lake I found Falcon hiking poles without pads.
Owner should contact ZS.

Now we are on the edge of summer and I went again to Zelenica then along the path to Stol and then already via Suho ruševje down to the hut at Završnica spring. In between I climbed a bit towards Može, but the path higher up got lost so I descended. First time I saw the spring and it is beautiful.

Amphitheatre before Zelenica - from here in past years when there was still snow, avalanches thundered. Now there has been none for two seasons.2

The hut at Zelenica beckons. The house at Završnica spring is also open.4
Guys - here where the scree is I went up and stopped below the summit.5
I got this far. It doesn't look anything special, ahead it was too demanding.6

A little before turning to Vrtača or towards Stol there is a turn-off down to the house at Završnica spring.9
We descend an unmarked path first over scree, then over fairly steep rough rubble, finally through the forest and emerge right in front of the hut.10
Above the hut is the spring.11
The water really tempts you to refresh yourself. In winter, when I walked around the spring, I didn't see it.12

Aimed for Vrtača, early morning from Ljubelj past Vrtača hut to Zelenica hut. Fog and drizzle deterred from Vrtača, continued to Završnica spring. From spring hut aimed for Srednji vrh but no path, so to Stol. At junction right under Vrtača back to Zelenica. No views, just some flowers pics. At end a chamois cheered me.

Four days, 13 to 16 August, we were (group of 10) in Dom at Završnica spring. Visited all 2000ers nearby incl. Stol. Nature (hills, flowers, raspberries, cranberries...) beautiful, but stay and hiking enhanced by hut caretakers (Marina and Sabina). Not only excellent tasty food (žganci, sour milk, krapi, super stews, strudel...) also welcome and much warmth! Highly recommend to others!nasmeh

It was really nice with Spirala. The caretakers Sabina and Marina also contributed to the positive vibe. The kitchen is excellent too. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the beds and the nice rooms, which is not very common in mountain huts. nasmeh

We were at the Hut at the Završnica Spring and hiked the nearby peaks Stol, Begunjščica, Vrtača. The caretakers Marina and Sabina "spoiled" us all days. Ten lovers of mountains and RELAXED LIFESTYLE returned to the valley satisfied and inwardly fulfilled after four days. THANKS SPIRALA!! nasmehI recommend it to everyone!

Yes, next year we will repeat something like that, probably at some other location. Via Završnica we will probably carry out a 2-day traverse of the Karavanke, with overnight stay in the Hut at the Završnica Spring!
