Dve Špici-Due Pizzi

We two went the opposite way to Ljubitelj gora. From Naborje via 605 to the saddle, down to planina Granuda and by road to the valley. Just some hints on the start, which is a bit tricky.
In Naborje almost opposite the church turn left over the bridge and go straight to the wood depot. Park the car aside here somewhere. Go right (straight 606 to Poldašnja špica) then uphill to the bike path. The tunnel starts immediately, on the other side after a few hundred meters at the first junction turn left uphill. On a small tree there is a modest red-white arrow with an unrecognizable number 605. The road after some time becomes a path and trail, which takes us without issues to the Cianalot saddle. Here we join the trail from Dunje. We took 4 hours to the summit, the younger would do it faster.
Descent the same way or via planina Granuda (time approx. the same). In this case at the junction below the summit turn down to the planina (604), then forest road to the bike path and through two tunnels to the start (3h or less).

We headed to Dve Špici from Kanal Valley, precisely from Naborje. From there we made a nice loop variant, and we had shade for a long time. Our path was marked with 605, but we can easily and quickly mistake it for 606. The sign for it stands before the bike tunnel, ours only after it.

Further on, some good soul mowed a good part of the initial greenery, which is booming luxuriantly in this year's humid conditions. Without it we would have been wet to the waist from the night rain and probably to the bones velik nasmeh. Generally in these areas I often notice that paths are mowed and cleared. Commendable nasmeh.

Markings are also well traceable, many almost new. In the lower part there is a crossing over the stream, where the ancient marking on the pine can lead in the wrong direction. It is necessary to follow the cart track, new marks appear right after the bend. Higher under the Cianalot saddle they are clearing the brushwood, various tools on temporary rest are already waiting for diligent hands. Even in the current state, the entire path 605 is solid, well hikeable and not difficult.

The continuation was well known to us from our previous traverses of the Naborje mountains via the path of the Gemona battalion. Path 649 more or less follows the ridge, protections are impeccable in this section, views excellent. Crossing the exposed ledges requires attention, no vertigo or shaky legs, the ascent to the highest Špica is easy.

We left the traverse at the junction for path 604, which we followed to the lower edge of planina Granuda. There we turned right onto the unmarked forest road and returned to the valley along it. At the bike path we went through the underpass and calmly continued along the river towards Naborje. There we even encountered some old markings. We used the crowded bike path again for the passage through the tunnel to the starting point.

On Sunday we two also went to these beautiful twins, namely up path no. 648 and down no. 605. To me the tour seemed immensely beautiful, perhaps also because it was on the wishlist for a whole decade and a half. Both paths in impeccable condition, @bagi also 648 is mowed. Quite a lot of caution is needed only on the descent when crossing under the crumbly Piparjev wall, where there are no protections. One extremely beautiful day is recorded at the link

Yesterday I went on a tour with PD Za Selško dolino Železniki to Two Spires. I unfortunately only went to the first - Cima Vidiver (VanSims says Slovenian name Vrh nad Cijanerico). Unfortunately I read too poorly that you need helmet and safety gear with you. I waited for the rest of the group on top of the first mountain until they reached the top of Cima Alta and photographed them from afar. I waited for them only 50 minutes, then went to sit by the bivouac until they came down. We went from Dunje valley along that winding mountain road to Rudni vrh pass, if I understood correctly. There is space maybe for a couple of cars. Below I noticed that this winding asphalt road is 18 km. To which km we drove I don't know. Then the path to the left directs into a steep slope. The steepness really doesn't let up until Bivak Bernardinis. In between we cross what I think are two somewhat awkward gullies. The most exposed sections of the path are now equipped with completely new steel cables. This path should be marked with number 649, if I read that correctly on some rock. There are quite a few signposts in between. We wouldn't get lost. The weather was beautiful. I checked out the bivouac, under the bivouac there is even a water intake. I even tried if there is water and there was. The bivouac is spacious, there is even a WC a bit below the bivouac. We can sleep in it in an emergency, because it has enough bunks. The views are worth shouting about. Montaž of course rules here, we see all the mountains around Montaž's high plateau from Strma peč on the right to Viš on the left. It really was beautiful.

Branko,
Tuma writes for the mentioned peaks like this:
"Cima Vildiver (lower peak of Two Spires) is distorted (Italianized) Slovenian name Veliki vrh (Cima Alta, main peak of Two Spires)".

I warmly recommend (both personally and as a mountain guide) reading the following book. You will surely find it in the library, sadly no longer in bookstores. Excellent and instructive reading nasmeh

velkavrh: you didn't go to Rudni vrh (end of road), but to smaller parking about 1.5 km before Rudni vrh, where your path no. 648 branches off! At Rudni vrh there is more parking space.

Best regards!

turbo,bbugari1, thanks! More heads, more knowledge. We learn all our life. I wasn't on the tour as a mountain guide, but just as a participant and actually knew nothing about the tour. It was beautiful and I would do the tour again.

But there is really some confusion with those signs or I didn't understand them.
This was the path mark on the rock. I don't know, it looks like someone corrected the path number.1
On the signposts the correct path number was-648. This was the first signpost on the path-it said Strada Val Dogna-45 minutes.2
This was the second signpost at the saddle Forchia di Cjanalot, where it again said to Val Dogna path no. 605-1:30. As if it were another path to the mountain.3

turbo, thanks! Now I understand this path 605.It starts down in the settlement Marborchetto at 770m, crosses the river Fella over the bridge, turns onto the forest road and from it all the way to the saddle Forchia di Cjanolot-1830m.It says that path no. 605 is marked all along and you can't get lost. There are no times written though. Paths 648 and 649 are not described. At the saddle the path continues on path no. 648.From the settlement to the bivouac it should take about three and a half hours. It would be worth going on this path to these two peaks of the Two Spires.

Two Spires I've been planning for a long time and on Sunday everything fell nicely into place. With the group we started the path a bit below the Rudni vrh saddle on path 648. To the junction for Monte Piper it's quite steep, crossing under the walls of the mentioned mountain though quite an adrenaline rush. Practically no belays here, need to watch out.
To bivouac Bernardinis no peculiarities, from the tunnel on to Cima Alta the path is well secured.
On return I also visit the lower Cima Vildivere and then on the same path to start.
Beautiful tour! velik nasmeh

Yesterday through the wonderful mountain valley of Dunje to the starting point for Due Pizzi on path 648. The path to this mountain was exciting for me, since according to the descriptions you never know what exactly awaits you. Will the helmet alone be enough, would the via ferrata kit be superfluous and the screes under the Piperji that you cross bearable or just exaggerations in previous descriptions. These are questions that only the tour itself answers. I'll say it like this now: the protections where they are, are excellent. We didn't miss the via ferrata kit, but the helmet is essential, since you can bump your head already in the tunnel. People were probably smaller back thennasmeh. The crossing under the Piparji was really quite adrenaline-pumping, that scree really takes your breath away.

We returned on path 605 and were glad that we had thus also gotten to know that path. At the end we also drove to Rudni vrh, where we noted that on the whole path we had seen only cars with Italian plates, but also a couple of Slovenian ones. No other tourists here, no Czechs, Dutch people, nor Austrians. On the mountain itself we met only around 10 hikers.

For those who would like to go to at least one of the spires, but don't like walking on rocky ledges and uncertain steep crossings on hard scree, they can choose path 605 and ascend only the lower spire. The joy will be just as great.

Thanks for the pics, at no. 7 I see I have no choice, every year it would be necessary to dig out the trail, no other way mrk pogled same in that gully a bit further from the start of path no. 648 from Dunje, can you confirm this condition? I'd like to know the condition of path 649 in the crossing part to the scree before the start of the ferrata on Piper if I come from bivouac Gemona (direction from east to west) if someone has been there recently, thanks.mežikanje
