From Krma to Kredarica

Last week, the path from Krma to Kredarica and then towards Planika tempted us; the path is beautiful, without any danger, for all those irresistibly drawn at least close to our father, but due to vertigo do not dare or cannot go elsewhere; I must say, I didn't expect such steepness compared to the path from Rudno polje, where the ascent starts only from Konjski preval onwards, and warning: choose an early morning hour when sun rays are not yet too generous over the rocky landscape, as most of the path is exposed to the sun; the path is also for those enjoying the silence of the mountains, as we met only about 3-4 hikers, while from the direction of Vodnikova hut crowds were rolling; across Malo polje only marmot whistles disturbed us, they hid from our curious eyes and we vainly watched for them; path description through pictures

I was there yesterday too from Krma to Kredarica. Weather ideal, larches fairy-tale colors, ascent like hasn't been for a long time, initially fog though, up top pure clarity. Quite some people. Probably last weekend, next week real winter will probably start up there.

Please someone post photos of the Krma_Kredarica path in winter conditions. Is that path possible to pass with crampons and ice axe? I know they do ski touring there. Thanks in advance.

Pics taken on Friday the 13th, when it was really a nice and wonderful day.

For the ascent (to Kredarica, you know) no special gear needed, just spray the shoes well so they don't get soaked.

joc 001 thanks very much for advice and photos, gorgeous!!!!
If weather allows heading to Kredarica this weekend already. Another question; how much time needed to hut at Kredarica and can sleep up there? Thanks again. Good luck all who go to the mountains! Nice greeting.winking

The time a person needs from the Krma parking lot to Kredarica is very relative and depends on several conditions. The most important is certainly the weather (snow, ice, wind) and of course the hiker's fitness.
On average, for current conditions, up to 5 hours, while the way back is much faster, even half less (two and a half hours).

And @pohodnica or mod please fix title.

That there's already one topic, more current smile

Thanks for the good intention, I namely activated (admittedly very) old topic where the emphasis is on 'Krma', since due to nonchalant municipal bosses it's blasphemous to drive in this valley.
Otherwise, I'm even more interested if by Friday there will already be some track up there, or if the snow will even freeze.

What's the road to Krma like and the path over Kalvarija?

Up to Kovinarska kopna, from end of meadow at Kovinarska to Lesa it's icy but nicely drivable, no problem for 4x4, for normal drive you need to be a bit careful not to slip... no wheel ruts or bumps so ok for undercarriage... from Snežna kota, crampons are strongly recommended, it's very windblown
