Great stupidities of the Bled and Bohinj municipalities

I really don't care about Bohinj. If I start a tour from there, I arrive early in the morning in front of Koča pri Savici, and in the evening too, to sleep in the car. The rest: food, drink,... can be mitdofuren (freely after Tofu and his German tourist) and no need to leave a cent to Bohinj. There are so many beautiful or even more beautiful lakes in the Alps and without parking fees or at least somewhere free parking. By the way, the famous Bled kremšnita: that's 3.60, in our local pastry shop 1.90 i.e. almost half cheaper. Quality is approximately the same, if not even a shade better at ours, price-wise the Bled one should be twice as good to justify it. Then it's clear where I won't eat kremšnite anymore from now on but I'll still come to Bled. Similar fame with Bohinj cheese. Emmental you get in Spar for 5 EUR something, Bohinj one hard under 15 EUR. And now let someone convince me that Bohinj is three times better,... Dom Perignon I haven't tried yet but I doubt it's 15 times better than regular champagne.

In capitalism price is determined by supply and demand, not quality. I don't know where you get that from.

Vansims you are really naive. You would want written proof that a pretty girl is three times better than your hand. And since you don't have it, you happily enjoy also Emmental for 5€, which is made from vegetable fats, water and artificial flavors and without a drop of milk. Just look here what you're eating! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4ykadZprPs

Korl do you want to say that in Zelene doline dairy they produce artificial cheese because it costs less than 5€/kg? Or that Dutch dairies are not dairies? When cheese counterfeiters master making holes like Emmental has, I'll stop eating it.

Korl, nice that you indirectly supported Bohinj Emmental and other dairy delights from the Bohinj end. These products come from an environment where clean air and green nature are at home. There are no dairies with labs of various E's and other harmful ingredients there. For healthy eating it's not hard to pay an extra euro. Lp

GregorC 10.2.2016 I'm fascinated by the thinking about parking fees here. Parking fee in LJ or another city is OK, because there's already so little space and let the "hillbillies" who come to the city and make mess pay. But when his highness the city dweller goes somewhere into nature for a trip (let's say to Bohinj since it's under fire) then it's a big fuss because he has to pay parking with all that space (meadows, forest,...) If there were no parking fees and collectors, in my opinion people would park right on the lake shore. That would be nice for all of us, right Yes, exactly like that. Parking fee is just a function of supply and demand. Where there's little space, lots of traffic (i.e. in cities, especially Ljubljana for us), it's logical to charge. Where there's lots of space, less traffic, it doesn't make much sense. If nothing else because there's enough ground to always find a parking spot not under regime. Well, unless you're like Bohinj folks who preemptively ban parking all over the valley. Yeah that's logical, right ...

Oh, and parking on the lake shore has absolutely nothing to do with it. CPP clearly specifies where you can park and where not, parking fees or not.

rajko, if you know that 1 kg of cheese needs 10-12 l of milk + add work and aging time + add trader and reseller profit, which is at least 50% here - milk would have to flow from the tap for real cheese at 5 €. Anyway the video is 6 years old, about ham without meat and cheese without milk there's as many serious articles online as you want, even in Slovenian. Today they can make just raw holes for you if you want and if you only care that it's cheap.

anyway, you can do the test yourself, take that cheap Emmental with holes and try to make fondue or cheese sauce. It doesn't melt at all but just clumps up

>>In capitalism price is determined by supply and demand, not quality. Well, unfortunately not... that's like the concept of capitalism itself, unfortunately just theory. In practice there are various things that mess with that law of supply and demand: monopolies, cartels that the state quietly tolerates, ads, various fads like 'buy local' and such. All that strongly deforms that law. And of course if someone falls for ads and fads it's their own fault. I don't know who's naive then. >>You'd want written proof that a pretty girl is three times better than your hand. no proof needed for that... As for cheese, who says Bohinj cheese is the real one. It can be fake just like any other. I'm not saying Bohinj folks fake it (though I wouldn't be surprised) but someone can sell artificial cheese under that brand. If under Emmental brand then also under Bohinj one. And cream cakes from regular patisseries around 2 EUR are all fake, from artificial ingredients, but Bled one is the only 'real'?

VanSims, you managed to sow a shadow of doubt on the quality of Bohinj Emmental.

In the summer months Bohinj chokes in cars. Traffic maybe should be restricted before the lake, introduce free buses. Given the money we bring even day visitors, the general picture is very miserable.

The essence of the problem is charging at every step, the tourist or visitor gets very little in return. The sight of decaying hotels, failed ski areas, not to mention the condition of the roads.
