Great stupidities of the Bled and Bohinj municipalities

Print
Kolar9. 02. 2016 19:16:32
We all know the sick cash-grabbing in Bled and especially in Bohinj. To the shamelessly high parking fees, tolls, prices in pubs and more, now "boat tax" has joined. With this decree they will impose customs duties on vessels under eight meters in Bohinj; SUPers, surfers and kayakers will in future have to buy boating permits (2€ daily, 5€ weekly and 20€ monthly). Of course that's not all; entering and exiting the lake will from now on be possible only at one point. How this will be feasible for tourists at the other end of the lake, of course hasn't occurred to the municipal officials, nor probably what they will do with those who enter at some other point. Will inspectors fine them, write them a ticket?velik nasmeh Very likely any kayaker would send them to f*ck off and nicely paddle away.
I won't talk about similar stupidities in Bled here, whoever goes to those parts surely knows them already.

http://www.supmagazin.si/bohinjsko-jezero-dovolilnica-za-supanje-ali-globa/

Here the question arises, when will the insatiable, greedy, collecting machine of the Gorenjcians stop?? What will be the next idiotic decree to drive away tourists?? Will they sober up only with complete absence of visitors or nothing at all? I would suggest to the municipalities to follow neighboring Austria, where prices really aren't the lowest but they certainly know how to keep tourists so they return again and again.

Lake Bohinj is better for me than the sea; it's pleasantly cool, clean and after a mountain tour anyone can with a little effort find their own beach. Because of such decrees though I don't know how often I'll go there anymore, since for me as an active kayaker just parking costs and "permit" (which of course I don't intend to buy) together with food quickly exceed the fuel price. From my side Bohinj will probably get a boycott and I call on all mountaineer friends to join me. This is the only way that the Bohinj people stop raping us, nature lovers, with these idiocies.
Regards

When reading the article on Dnevnik https://www.dnevnik.si/1042729399/lokalno/gorenjska/veslanje-na-deski-v-bohinju-dobrodoslo-a-kmalu-ne-vec-brezplacno I wish someone would crack me on the head with a shovel..zmeden

Just a note. The return ticket for me and my grandchild from Most na Soči to Bled cost 6 euros. Two "famous" cream slices 7.20 euros.zmeden

You're right Kolar, what you wrote. We'll have to go elsewhere, maybe across the border, where they really take care of the guest, years ahead of us.

In Bohinj they are still quite "moderate". On Bled in the draft of the new navigation regime 25€ per vessel per day is proposed.

Miri, when you bought the train ticket you probably had a discount, one for a pensioner and one child. With kremšnita there is of course no such discount nasmeh

@pikica1 sure. But the kremšnita price is still exaggerated. Many workers here can't buy it with one hour's work. Is it still reasonable? That's how I see such things.

Kremšnita price exaggerated? What does that even mean? Isn't the vast majority of prices such that most would prefer them lower??
Hey, that's capitalism, where you charge as much as you can squeeze.

Maybe they want to attract only those tourists who have fat wallets, consequently they will leave more in Bohinj tourism and also less drain. For someone 20 euros is pocket change, for someone 7.20 euros for kremšnita is noticeably too much. Slovenes would like almost everything free, coffee for 1 euro, kremšnites for 50 cents, free parking, free this that, in short... someone else works and invests in the environment and all that costs and hopes to get it back with tourism and those who want free end up collapsing everything. Otherwise for us day hikers there is free parking at Savica up to about 6-7 hours, if that's not super, right nasmeh

Good that elsewhere outside Gorenjska everything is cheap and free, righteek
And no mistake. I don't advocate charging excessively long and wide, whether in Gorenjska or elsewhere.
Kremšnita price at Bled? Expensive, but if they still sell them in large quantities, then obviously not too expensive. Otherwise I'm sure they would have lowered it.
Interesting, if I think well, I myself haven't even eaten kremšnita at Bledzavijanje z očmi

There's no issue with the amount.. the fact is that here they only know how to collect money.. like in an average firm bosses manage to say.. you must work more, but to give some smart suggestion how to achieve that, no. So also in the vast majority of municipal sessions they only manage to agree where and how much they will charge.. already emptying waste bins around the lake gets stuck for them in summer. You must fleece the tourist so that he goes home happy, not so that he immediately feels ripped****./let them peek across the border how it's done) Due to these bureaucratic matters tourists with thick wallets won't rush to Bohinj any more (they don't now either), I agree with the opinion that some who were guests so far won't come in the future. In Bohinj it's simply more stupid fleecing every year.. Once it will backfire on them if they don't do something.

Parking free, water fill from the stream, unpack sandwich from backpack in the mountain hut...sounds Gorenjska, at least with us in Styria

The moderators are really Ljubljana flowers! They allow insulting Bohinjers, Bleders, Gorenjcians, but delete opponents.
Nobody minds that in the middle of Bohinj LJUBLJANERS charge fat prices for fishing permits!
Bled cream cakes - Sava hotels&resorts LJUBLJANA!
Does anyone force you to Gorenjska.
Go to Ljubljanica, the sheriff won't charge you anything, no parking either. And you'll be in the "most beautiful city in the world"!

@sirt1 who is insulting? Warning about unsustainable conditions is not insulting, but you're right that in LJ it's not much better

I'm fascinated by the thinking about parking fees here. Parking fee in LJ or other city is OK, because there's already so little space and let the "hillbillies" who come to the city and make mess pay. But when his highness the city dweller goes to nature for a trip (say to Bohinj since it's under fire) then whole fuss because he has to pay parking with all that space (meadows, forest,...)
If there were no parking fees and collectors, in my opinion people would park directly on the lake shore. That would please us all, righteek

About Ljubljana everything THE BEST, THE BEST! Without criticism and spewing sulfur.
Europe rated: "Ljubljana, Green Capital of Europe 2016 and proud recipient of the Tourism For Tomorrow 2015 award, is a city with a green soul. The city, distinguished by high environmental awareness, has managed to preserve its green image to this day."

@GregorC of course there can't be free parking everywhere, but it's something else if they want to fleece the tourist at every step, like in Bohinj

Ljubljaners/non-Ljubljaners, highlanders/Styrians.... yeah nice to argue. And nice to argue about others. I'm a Ljubljanian woman (emigrated in recent years). When I talked to highlanders and lowlanders on mountain tops... nobody ever considered me a Ljubljanian. When I parked at Završnik Lake instead of Valvasorjev dom nobody wondered that with LJ plates I don't drive to the end of the road.... We are people, different kinds. And in Lj there are buses, parkings on the outskirts, bike rentals, and as excellent mountaineers we also know how to walk in Lj. And no parking fee. And in Bohinj I always happily pay the parking fee. Let the highlanders also get something from my mountain hiking.

If there's parking fee to establish some order, and if it's not too high, it generally doesn't bother me, but in Bohinj you pay 10 EUR for Blato and Vogar pastures, then that ticket doesn't apply to the lake, that's a bit harsh

For that money the road could also be plowed, not that in winter it's not drivable without chains

Planina Jezerce at Krvavec is nicely arranged and free, and even higher, e.g.

But this debate is not about parking fee (doesn't bother me) about toll to pl. Blato one could discusscool, it's about the newest decree they plan to adopt.
