Lijaneja, congratulations to the whole team for conquering this so prominent peak. Tiring, but wonderful ascent in beautiful weather. The photos are also beautiful. On picture 2, the pleasant coziness of the Stüdlhütte hut at 2802 meters catches the eye. Pleasant interior and cleanliness like on Kredarica. Good luck further!

Congratulations on the successful ascent, especially Neža for the first time. Hope you didn't forget the baptism. Best regards and safe steps to all from under the beautiful Golte, Janez

Thanks, Lino. Practically everything went really like butter, and the weather was divine. Since I've lost a lot of strength (not stamina) in the last two years, the heavy backpack was a tough effort for me, but the excellent views outweighed it all. The hut where we slept is really praiseworthy, dining room and sanitary facilities clean, in bedrooms blankets folded just military style. Janez, I think all three of us were first-timers, so there was no baptism, for Neža we didn't even have such a small rope for such a small butt

Tone, I made an effort and found old slides. They are not exactly as you wished, i.e., 30 years old, but they are 27 years old (July 11, 1990). Hope I won't hear about them now, because these are not current conditions.

Ice for export, ha ha. I loaded you with some work, Drago. Back then they obviously didn't rope up like nowadays. And in our days there were no helmets, safety belts, child seats... Thanks again for the effort, I think other forumers also enjoy the old shots.

Really sad. Pasterze has melted a lot in the last 5 years. Now under the hut there's no ice at all, but a lake and mud. So I'm wondering if it's still possible to go on this route to Glockner, because the glacier (better said lake) probably can't be crossed? In 1972 when I was there for the first time the glacier was almost 2 km longer and you could step directly onto it from the garage building.

Since there's a debate about age, I'll add my own pot too. In July 1965 we were with PZ on a trip through Austria and Italy. We also climbed Grossglockner. Sadly, over the years and moving the photo memories and contacts got lost too. That's why for some time I've been unsuccessfully looking for participants of this ascent. Now we're between 70 and 75 years old. Maybe now, since this topic is open here, I'll succeed.

Old shots are always interesting. Not only about glaciers, also about mountain visitors because some of us are already slowly withering. Overall mountains are changing, you feel human impact and nature's impact... I suggest under the topic Photo memories, which I'll open, we upload old shots which will inform younger ones about old conditions, us older a consolation before the approaching farewell from mountains. If similar topic maybe already open, let Tadej place it right.
