Haloze Mountain Trail (HPP) Borl-Donačka gora

On Saturday we did the section of HPP from Janški vrh to Donačka gora. Weather held, path pleasant for walking, friendly locals and beautiful landscape. Best regards! Lajči

With my wife we decided to hike the entire trail exactly as described. We hiked from Borl to Podlehnika, continuing towards Donačka gora. Wonderful trail and wonderful landscape, but the trail is poorly marked, especially at key points. Marking ca. 100 meters after the trail or road fork doesn't help if there's no proper sign at the junction itself (below Sveta Ana; at Majski vrh). In the Cirkulan area, the new Bračič Mountain Trail is marked, which helps somewhat, but misleading in many places as the Haloze trail goes differently. On many sections the trail could be routed off the asphalt road, making it even more attractive. No need to talk about the offer along the trail, as there is none. Various agencies for promotion and revitalization of Haloze are probably for themselves, as nothing or very little happens on the ground.

Everything is in bloom, so let's go from Gradišče to Dolene along the Haloze mountain trail. Weather wonderful, path dry and dusty. Soon I'll hike the whole spur. Best regards!

After almost 1 year of coordinating, Franci and I finally got to Haloze. We started at the Motel in Podlehnika and then along HPP to Rudi's hut. The trail is very green now, and along the whole trail we listened to the bird concert. Too bad I didn't have paint with me, because markings are needed at a few spots.

Early morning Joža and I set off from Borl towards Donačka gora. The trail winds quite a bit on asphalt, some Russian asphalt and forest too. Trail well marked, we did about 2500m elevation. Best regards!

A year has passed, so let's go on this looooong trail. Weather held, trail dry, thirst terrible. velik nasmeh

from Kupčinjev Vrh we have it like on the palm of our hand

in pleasant company on the summit of Donačka gora

it is really a long path, a good 60 km and 2400 m elevation gain

Cheers, Joža! I did it during the week only because of bad weather that hit at weekend, because I don't wanna mess around in wet and mud anymore. Enough of that crap over all these years, now I finally got chance to choose myself what I'll walk on. Wish you pleasant hiking! Lajči velik nasmeh

Right trail and bravo, especially in autumn time with interplay of various colors of Haloze nature... Less than 30 kilometers and one and a half thousand elevation gain I presume...Lp

On Saturday hiked HPP from Podlehnik to Borl Castle.
Initially in windy then in sunny weather hike over hills, peaks and ridges of beautiful Haloze. nasmeh

How about stamps on this trail? Still this year I plan to go on the trail and would like to collect all 11 stamps.

I'll just answer my own questions myself nasmeh

On Christmas I ran or walked the HPP.

All stamps are accessible and nicely stored in boxes at checkpoints.

The only problem could arise in Cirkulane (bar Krona), where the stamp is in the bar. But since the bar was open on Christmas I don't see a problem ahead nasmeh

On the trail I had no orientation problem as I studied it precisely at home. It's marked very well too. The only problem I had was in Naraplje where I simply couldn't find the right path ahead due to fallen trees. So I lost almost an hour and missed the sunset on Donačka gora because of that.

For others who'll be walking around here and have the same problem. Before the bridge turn left into the forest. The steep forest path will lead you uphill to the sign.

Otherwise a very nice mountain trail. Excellent for long running training. Maybe too much asphalt. Views reached even to KS Alps.

On Monday 05.11.2018 our Monday group of retirees from the Škofja Loka mountaineering society walked a part of the Haloze mountain trail. We started in the village Gorca. Then through the village Dežno. Past these characteristic terraced Haloze vineyards. Climbed up to the church on Rodni vrh. Past the old school through the village Jablovec, across the village Zakl. Then down to the pond in Dežno near Podlehnik. With stops we walked more than three hours.
