Hello! I'm interested in buying new skis. I'd like to be able to ski on prepared pistes with them too. For example if we go skiing with the family. And of course bindings and boots. Thanks and best regards.

Volkl touring skis besides touring in the mountains perform very well on groomed ski areas too. Model selection of this manufacturer is very good.

@samok, what's wrong if a person doesn't know and asks? Not everyone is as smart as you

Holy terror, even touring skiing is nonsense to you, or questions about gear?

For the last 10 years I've been on Elan touring skis. Last three years on Alaska and Lhotse. I also did tests for them and can say no complaints. In recent kits I also use their bindings Adrenalin and Ambition, also skins and scrapers. In a good season I do over 100 tours. You can see posts on TKG. If you drop by Elan, you won't miss out. Of course just my humble opinion. You can ask more on ZS.

Oh!! I agree with Janez... in the mentioned shop Nejc Kuhar works - the best Slovenian representative in competitive touring skiing and a person who also advises recreational skiers very well... on a visit (he works mainly in the afternoons), he will advise you very well and practically based on your personal needs and wishes... besides, he personally organizes touring ski gatherings (first round starts 5th JAN at Stari vrh ski resort..)... through Nejc you can, in the framework of these gatherings, also borrow all touring equipment (skis, boots..) to test and see what fits you and decide more easily for a possible purchase... contact him on the email you get from the 11-11 shop page... through Nejc I have already bought a lot of equipment in the 11-11 shop and must praise the advice and quality of the equipment... lpM

Hello! Super thanks for info. I'm also interested if these skis are suitable for skiing on groomed pistes. When I go with family to the snow. 7 years ago I jumped from skis to board, but it didn't excite me so much so I decided for skis again. I wouldn't want two pairs of skis. But it's not like I will bomb the piste with full power. Lp

As already mentioned, at Nejc in the shop there are all types of skis from competitive to recreational... also freeride or skis for free-style skiing... which you can easily and successfully use also on groomed ski resorts... no problem... the best is a direct visit to the shop and contact with Nejc and he can directly advise on the type and model of skis according to needs... lpM

As for Alaska and Lhotse, no problems on the ski resort. I only go from Kanin to Žlebe (Sella Nevea), Višarje and Mokrine.

I use skis ELAN Alasaka pro for recreational use and for the time of so-called enjoying touring skiing.... quite versatile ski... for use on artificial ice snow of groomed resorts maybe for me a bit too soft but otherwise for normal skiing on resort very ok and responsive ski.. for use on touring descents off resorts really very good and praiseworthy material.... lpM

First, when selecting skis, you need to know exactly why they will be used; only then can you choose more detailed among producers. Important is that, if skis will be used also for touring skiing, the core should be wooden and not only fiberglass. That one on hard snow, ice vibrates and doesn't keep full contact with the base. So edges only bite a little on some part of the edge. Also on steep traverses such issues in crossing to worse support and old touring ski cats would probably add more. Of course, the servicers know most about skis, those who have looked many times into the ski belly, if the ski is quality stuff or just well promoted fluff.

Nonsense, ski brand has no connection with anything!

Samo, again babbling into the void when you have no clue about anything. There are huge numbers of producers for every article today. Each stands for their own development and improvements, which they market on the market also by success. The buyer is the one who first decides what they need, only later decides for the model or producer. Sure is that one who knows a sport can crawl or ski down in much worse gear than some beginner with best gear, this is completely clear as daylight. Fiberglass stuff after years of use is also much more prone to losing stiffness, strength, which with skis with wooden core is not habit, has even flex over years, unless it breaks.

Yeah, if you read one answer before you, Viharnik has written quite well "at ski selection one needs to exactly know why they will be used, only then more detailed choose among producers"... nobody promotes any brand ... we just wrote what we use....

Viharnik, such thinking is a consequence of crazed "consumerism". Producers are incredibly grateful to such naive people. Any ski is good for easy skiing, of which the asker asks. Proven in so many years of touring and other skiing, as old as you are, youngster!

Everything is good, even old Jetke, if you're satisfied with them regarding weight, width, edges, radius. If your statement were to apply universally, then ski manufacturers would seal their factories and start making Bloške dile with hand molds etc. As for age, I wouldn't elaborate here. You can be 100 years old for all I care, but in spiritual years you'll be quite behind me. Some are born noble souls already as young, others don't even reach basic behavior in late age. With death the real beginning starts.
