Inappropriate posts on the forum

Lately we've received quite a few complaints due to inappropriate posts on the forum. Complaints mostly refer to messages posted by unregistered visitors (guest). Therefore we're considering a changed way of posting messages on the forum. One option is to completely abolish anonymous posting of messages. The other option is that every logged-in visitor could mark an anonymous message as inappropriate. If a certain number of logged-in visitors think the message is inappropriate, the message would be deleted. I'm interested in your opinion on anonymous sending of messages. Best, Rok

I think it would be better to end anonymous posting. Marking messages as inappropriate is too subject to subjective judgment. With mandatory registration, over time you separate authors who provide reliable info from those just killing time. best, Guest (hoping I'll have to register next time )

agree with guest 1 on pzs site e.g. you can get really relevant info if you want, also never run into provocations, insults... which happens here way too often. If someone has something personal to say, can always write private message and that's it. I think nasty content will definitely decrease this way, since with registration you're no longer anonymous. guest2

Guests 1 and 2 why aren't you registered yet Rok would have another remark namely on the use of Slovenian. Some write so folksy it's hardly readable and understandable. Should warn those too. Maybe soon 3 new users .

I'm for completely transparent posting of messages. This way we'd avoid any speculations about the contents

I think it would be right that everyone registers, but that data only for you moderators, for us readers password is enough, i.e. some name and not just guest. as for Slovenian, it's true sometimes you wonder what is what, on the other hand it's fun. why should everything be uniform?! good luck all

on the first page there where it says login you log in first then it says 'logged in as'. then you don't need to enter those numbers and letters anymore.(former Guest 1)

Up in the top right corner there's login. Enter username and password. If you don't log in you'll still be a guest. If you check auto-login you'll be automatically logged in on every forum visit . Still guest 3

I entered username once then password checked auto-login and below that pressed login and then everything disappeared. let's see what comes out of this now?

if you log in first time press "new user". a new window appears where you register. then you get feedback thank you for registration. I did all that last time today but somewhere I mess up.

One more opinion. Mandatory login will consequently bring fewer posts but average quality will likely (but not necessarily!) be higher. Anyway recognizability usually raises the level of self-censorship and on the other side the level of (dis)trust in authors because their contributions are traceable. All that is positive or maybe reverse: can't hurt! I suggest simultaneously adding user option to search all posts of same author (nickname) and limit possibility of registering different nicknames from same IP address. Both could contribute a bit more to forum seriousness ... Overall soon there will probably arise (if not already?) need for general search engine on forum posts; I mean searching words in text titles ... I think no need to be too smart (I don't want to be either!) - look at some other forum (maybe similar topic?) and take the good things! Best P.S. As it looks login works OK for me.

I agree with Rakar, adding that the forum should be for exchanging mountaineering info, mountaineers don't hide behind guest names. Best regards

I strongly agree, knowing who gives opinion is much more interesting than bunch of anonymous guests. As hill folk we should be more tolerant. cheers Tonek
