Today after tiring holidays we went to stretch our legs a bit
around Jezersko. The weather was quite pleasant except for the wind, which was quite strong at times. I wish everyone health and success and a safe step into the year 2012. Best regards.

At Jezersko, Silva was invited to climb Vikijeva sveča, while I [did the] ascent on the path to Češka koča where we would meet again.
Above T.K. Ancelj there is quite a lot of new snow, around 25cm, even more above the cargo cableway in Ravenska Kočna. The snow is completely unprocessed, dry and mostly sinks evenly with the old snow to the knees and beyond. At the cargo, two young climbers from Austria join us, asking about ice and where each of us is going separately. They head under the wall, I put on snowshoes and [go] along the marked path to Češka koča. Already past Andrejeva bench at the first longer traverse through the forest, I hear a muffled sound wuf from under my feet. The slope and forest still hold the snow, but higher across the upper traverses past lojter the ascent is risky due to the windblown [snow] there. I call Silva and tell him his descent from the hut downward will be too risky. Meanwhile, he also tells what happened to them. They were ascending sinking into snow to the waist, suddenly it cracked there too, but differently than with me. There it ignited like with a blowtorch and all three quickly got away from there. The Austrians added that their friend was recently buried in Austria and they don't want to end like that either. We all turn back and meet at the cargo. From my side, a good track is made to just before the junction to Štularjeva pl. to 1250m. In the next days of thawing there will be lots of avalanching, because the lower layer (ice, frozen snow not bonded with powder, which is especially loose-labile in depth compared to the upper snow layers) is dangerous for spontaneous avalanche release!. On the way back, midday dry snow in the sun was already changing considerably to southern. Still we broke trail well and gained fitness and enjoyed the unique nature after snowfall. nasmeh

The horses also enjoyed the powder snow while galloping!

To the cable station we trampled the only ski track.

Silvo had predicted the ice fall from afar to be hollow.

This is how Silvo, I and other ice climbers trampled the path.

At Štularjevo plateau it is still completely untouched.

Three years ago I spent 1 week of summer vacation with family at Anceljs. Very nice memories bind me to Ravenska kočna, I see it's also wonderful in winter. I believe you enjoyed, more such days.

Does anyone have fresh pics from Jezersko specifically view on north face of Kamniških? I'm interested how much is still filled in gullies above hut at Ledine...

Webcam is pretty poor... you see there are mountains and snow, that's it.

Today up high, down low, around slopes above Lower and Upper Jezersko. Plenty of sun, silence, clean air, but also ice in shady spots. Only one quite used mobile was found in the pocket, but some pics simply had to be taken. nasmeh

Yes, it's nice to brighten someone's evening. Also to me in moments when for various reasons I can't go to nature, the posts and pics from hribi.net brighten the moments. Volk, I wish you to be quickly back on your feet and that they carry you safely on the hills for a long time.

Volk, good luck, good luck. On the Titanic there were cca 2000 healthy, but they didn't have luck.
If you have luck, you have everything.

Today a quick jump to rainy and cold Jezersko for larch bracts.
A short walk around Anceljn to look for boletus; there were a couple and some young morels, which I left to grow for the locals big

.
On the way back the weather in Kokra showed a completely different picture, clear and sunny warm smile

. Next time need to go at least a bit higher, lp.

Visit to Jezersko is something wonderful now. The lake isn't frozen yet. But an artificial skating rink is made and the youngest can skate there as much as they want. Of course, you need to pay something. Jezersko has beautiful cross-country tracks now. They are prepared for classic and skating technique. We must pay five (5) euros for this recreation. For payment, two kiosks are available - one right opposite the artificial skating rink, the other on the other right edge of this wonderful plain. You can also pay online. They have controllers, so just pay. For free you can also satiate your eyes on the view - in summer wow. Our youth enjoyed it. But we mustn't walk on the prepared tracks. Probably now for Saturday and Sunday it will be full of cars, but you need to know that it is Gorenjska and it is exactly known who may come here. Police doesn't rest. We were here on Thursday, it was a beautiful sunny day, all peaks around were visible. Highly recommend!
