Hi I have to tell something that pissed me off: Saleswomen in Kibuba have no idea what they're selling at all, they know nothing about the products. I don't know what they're doing there at all, they only know how to "cash register" and nothing else, no explanations, nothing. I'm very disappointed, if I compare to other similar stores where the explanation is already quite professional; those are my experiences. And yours?

A few days ago my husband and I were in this shop because we were interested in crampons. The shopkeeper showed them, while packing some boxes; to learn more, he offered that I ask the younger lady who was trying on shoes herself, as she is a climber herself. Such help. We turned around and left.

We are sorry that you had a negative experience in our shop. More than anything, we want customers to leave our stores satisfied. From what we read, we conclude that you were not served correctly, for which we sincerely apologize. In response to what was written, we have opened a section "Complaints, comments and praises" on our website, where we gratefully accept both positive and negative criticism, and we will also act on the specific problems you have already pointed out.

I agree with you that they have no idea, how should they if they are there just to be employed and earn something. The essence of today's shops is to have turnover, customers are second. I first bought Milo pants (material doesn't breathe well), then also crampons. On both products I got absolutely no discount. On the second purchase the excuse was that they haven't entered me as a customer yet. Yeah sure they haven't, since on the first purchase they didn't take my data. HELLO. Now they send me some storže as discount, because they don't have enough turnover. Now I'll go elsewhere.

Everyone buys what their heart desires, no one forbids it. I also have Milo pants, together with active underwear they are great, I even tried them as a ski tour from Czech hut towards north wall of Kočna and Grintavec, I wasn't cold at all, nor wet, full of snow though. Sebanakis

Everyone buys what their heart desires, if they have the money. I, although I know "little money little music" buy the cheapest products, since I don't have money for more. I don't care if the saleswoman knows how to sell or not, important is that it's cheap! on high prices

Well that's a bit off-topic - "IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT IF THE SALESWOMAN KNOWS HOW TO SELL" whether for little or lots of money.

I agree that money is important, since there's crisis if you don't have it. That's why it's worth buying at the lowest prices or in sale or on clearance! As for saleswoman or salesman it's good if trained at least for those customers in dilemma what to buy, what suits them, so doesn't buy too weak equipment or too good for him because won't know how to use it! Above all must be help to us, since easily with experiences contributes so that we are properly informed about use, since it can save life! Other thing is practical part where you try everything on! I'm beginner and also student who works nights during the week to afford equipment for the mountains, and know it's not little money, but sometimes it's worth giving a bit more money, since always in that moment ask yourselves, how much is your life worth? When you answer that, you'll buy the best for yourself, believe me: Also on internet there are huge comparative tests of equipment, also of stores, just need to search a bit more. I speak from experience, when I spent quite some time at the computer collecting information, besides read quite some literature on the topic. And in new year above all safe and firm step in mountains and hope we meet somewhere Sebanakis

Hey in Promontana in Kranj I went for a new harness and one ... of the salesmen wanted in every way to push that climbing one; he said it's better for climbing and there are no others. And there were like ten seat models too. so FUCK ... PROMONTANA!!!!!!!!!!!! Iglu is best, even though it's a bit more expensive, has best gear! So in Iglu not in that ... Promontana! Regards. Anže

Anže, first I recommend you revisit the Slovenian language course . So far I've bought in all three above-mentioned stores. In the most criticized one I went once purely by chance and in the end left €150 there. Very satisfied with both products. Otherwise it depends a lot on the seller and his expertise and advice. So far in Iglu as in Promontana I've run into good and bad sellers.

Yeah if you're already afraid that sellers want to push something "on you" anyway then best to order desired stuff online.

In all three above-mentioned stores most sellers have no clue what they sell and what certain labels on clothes mean (gore tex, soft shell,...), all convince you that if something [is] more expensive then surely better, although from practice I know it's not true, sometimes pay for brand and greed of store. So if not sure what to buy, first search a bit on internet and don't fall for store tricks, and also don't convince self to buy something you don't need because "bargain and quality".

Equipment doesn't have to be top-notch to hike comfortably and successfully in mountains. For start can be even worse material than gore-tex or rather when get some experience start buying better equipment. Anyway gore-tex membrane lasts couple years, exceptionally one more. Often sellers not right measure for suitable equipment for us because they must sell stuff. We must educate ourselves (PD) and via forums often get right data for proper choice of mountain gear.

Each of us can consider something else as top equipment. If I hike in our mountains of course won't stock up on Himalaya gear. Definitely better to get equipment from recognized makers and pay euro more. Hiking gear and footwear with proper care and maintenance you use for years. If you get from some "shady" firm won't use long. Especially safety is priceless given what can happen if not properly equipped.

True mountaineers when come to store exactly know what to buy, as for brands in all mountain gear stores you get quality brands, buy of course to your pocket and purpose suitable. But in every store there's seller there just for salary so best inform on net. And also not necessary that recognized and expensive brand is best, best is what you feel comfortable in.
