Klemenča - Strelovec - Ute - Krofička ridge

Definitely magnificent tour. Thanks for pics of shepherd hut renovation. Traverses to Ute? Well, Roban shepherd ... For me definitely nicest over Črni Hriber (a masterpiece and a half, which unfortunately relentlessly overgrows). Regarding unvisited peaks (in Logar amphitheater). Savinjek? Ridge to V. vrh?
Regards and good luck.

Volk I've long noticed that you're a great knower of this area, so I ask you this too: Don't know Savinjek! Please tell me more about it. Veliki vrh (Veža)?? that one we traversed in length and breadth or another? Regards

Bravo geppo. Nice tour. The traverse from Strelovec to Krofička hasn't "ratalo" for me yet either. Don't know why, but so it is. Don't go up anymore so that something is left for me, he, he. Good luck.

Geppo, Savinjek is a solitary mountain above the former alpine pasture Zabrložnica, located on the ridge between Logarska and Matkov kot. To the pasture from Logarska leads a nice hunting path, to the top of Savinjek you have to go your own way (pathless - technically not too hard, orientationally moderate). Savinjek is not a height champion (1694m), but an undisputed hero in views and blissful peace! Its summit draws sighs from the bottom of the soul for Matkova kopa, which from here is like on the palm, mighty walls of Ojstrica, Planjava, mysterious Krofička ... V. Vrh (hehe, not that one) is an 'insignificant' wooded one in the same ridge, just closer to the entrances to the mentioned beautiful valleys (Logarska, Matkov kot). A pathless slope leads to it, just below the summit a sharpened ledge awaits (exposed, visible trace of 'path'). For both approaches there are descriptions in mountaineering guides (not sure about Savinjek). And some intermediate path can be found ... And best regards.

Thanks for the answer! It interested me and I got some info. Matkov area is quite unknown to me except ascents to Mrzla (desire for kopa still there!). On Monday a helicopter (Austrian intervened - hovered 2x over the kopa summit) – do you know what happened? I notice that you also like it when you walk for hours and hours and meet no one. Son was overjoyed when we went over Mrzla to Matkov kot and for 7 hours didn't meet a soul. First thing noticed at Krofička traverse - no traces (trash, cans, papers..) in short nothing - only faint outlines of the path!! Desires are many and this area (Matkov) we will visit too. Not driven by lust for summit heights - but beauty of untouched nature. Currently thinking a bit about ridge traverse - THE RIDGE THAT SEPARATES MATKOV KOT FROM LOGARSKA AND GOES TO LATVICA - DO YOU HAVE ANY INFO ON THAT?? Best regards, thanks!!

geppo, describe to me the easiest path to Klemenča cave, including where to park the car, please; lp

Usually I use the path through the tunnel. So drive one section further where it turns for hotel Plesnik. At "Razpotje" leave the car in the shade of trees in front of the entrance to this catering complex. Early morning usually space for some cars.. Then over wooden barrier into forest on wide forest road (cca. 10 min), from which branches marked path to the left uphill The other is Planinski dom. Large parking, large signpost for Klemenča cave. And be before 7 (you know toll at Logarska entrance) you'll have some money left for beer at Klemenča!! Both paths join cca. 15 min before Klemenča. Walking time in both variants about 1 hour. Lp

Mountains above Matkov kot are really less visited (according to my info some try hard to keep it that way). Well yeah ... Geppo, asking about the ridge between valleys (Logarska and Matkov kot)? I already wrote that 'along' (below) it leads a nice hunting path, all from V. Vrh to Zabrložnica and further to Okrešelj. I think Stritarjev guide writes about it. But today I noticed they recently asphalted some hundred meters of gravel into Matkov kot (was on Matkova kopa). Lp.

Yes, mountains wait!! There are quite some plans.. Congrats for kopa!! I can't resist the very well-known human "good" trait - "foušije" yeah some more..!! but I have some nice spots for mushroom picking, somewhere there where you also wander! to boast a bit .. good luck on your solitary and wild paths I wish!! "Hills" visitors can also understand each other well. Why fight if despite the km separating us, the same goals connect us.. A promise makes a debt... and today in nice sunny weather we did a joint tour. Razpotje - Klemenča - Strelovec - "former kingdom of Roban's shepherd - Ute - and traverse of north face Krofička - path to Krofička - Klemenča - Razpotje. On our path we met only one Ute visitor. He did me a favor with info: traverse north wall without touching scree, and you're on the right "path". We really didn't, well a bit...., because we missed by a couple of meters at one spot. For this variant of circular "path" I heard, but vaguely... Also Fuks and Korošec surprised with exceptional break-in proof lock on their hut ) It wasn't our intention to rummage in the hut, but only if we manage to open. Not flies... we had to honestly use gray cells.. ) Peeked into nicely arranged interior and closed as it was. Traverse along traces of "locals", whose peace we disturbed and they looked at us displeased from above. They even gathered together. So nothing left but go on and leave their world as we found it... lp

These are places where chamois have their peace, as human unrest disturbs them less often.

We really experienced a nice day, thanks again "geppo" for sharing paths with us that not everyone has access to . I hope we repeat it sometime, adding some of my pics.

Congrats guys, nice tour. If I got it right, you didn't go to the Krofička summit? Where did you join the marked path to Puklovec then? Lp

Approx. 20 min below the Krofička summit we hit the path to the top. The "path" runs quite high (just below the ridge) and that's why so high. We didn't go to the summit, but descended to Puklovec. LP

Congrats geppo and others, you did our winter tour in reverse and I see you're also thrilled by the beauties of this rarely seen wilderness and primitivity . I'd wave from the Savinjek top today if I knew you were enjoying beyond Logarska valley . Has the golden larch adornment scattered there too?

Yeah, technology is really fast today, a guy hasn't even gotten home yet and it's already online. Zlatko and other guys, why didn't you say earlier? We'd have had a full "hribi.net meeting" on Utah, just missing some woman ; I'd have taken care of the drinks. Stanko, fix the description under my pic so we don't mislead the public; I would've posed more professionally if I'd known. The biker was just a greeting to Korošec since you know him. I hear that despite my tips to avoid brush, some love it. The important thing is that you got safely to Puklovec. From me today, besides the tip, you also got chamois which I unwittingly drove from the ridge straight to you. I soon after our split changed my plan from meadows to ridge, then to Krofička top and hunter's valley. Finally, Zlatko, those 20 min are hunter's or fisherman's; multiply by at least 2 or 3. Best regards to all.

yes, true, I haven't been to Krofička top via the normal path for quite some time, but I thought from where we joined the path it was still approx. 20 min to the top. I assumed that due to the height where the "paths" meet. Thanks for your tip. We really enjoyed the masterfully executed chamois trail.. LP
