Hi, I'm interested in the current conditions on the route from Bohinj towards Bogatin. I plan to head up tomorrow, concerned about snow avalanches. I know quite some snow has fallen, any info if someone's been that way! Thanks for replies! Bošta

Are you describing the path to Planina Na Kraju or to Bogatin? There is no hut on Bogatin!

What is pictured is the hut under Bogatin. To Bogatin in such conditions still quite a hike. Regards, Matevž

Yes, sorry for the mistake. We were at the hut under Bogatin, to be more precise. And it's a 15-minute walk from the hut on Komna to the hut under Bogatin. The path is nicely trodden—was it? LP Marko!.

Lp Today on Komna and Bogatin ideal weather, almost no wind, snow overnight excellently hard, but on return already a bit soft but ideal for fooling around on shortcuts. The sunrise was a bit delayed because of some clouds before the sun, but still nice. There were quite a few ski tourers up there who have already properly tempted me into this activity this year. With the best company under the scorching sun, Grega and Sonja enjoyed it.

I was there on May 1st. Approximately one hour of hiking is completely dry, the second half has snow that (in boots) doesn't sink excessively. At the hut real winter, two meters of snow. For ski tours ask experts.

On Friday 28.05.2021 I wanted some winter. From the hut at Savica via Komna to Planina na Kraju - Hut under Bogatin. In the upper part of the path to Komna there is still some snow, but the path is normally passable. The path to Planina na Kraju goes partly on bare ground partly on snow. But I couldn't believe how much snow there still is. And this end of May!

Wonderful excursion and idyllic landscape. Start in front of Savica. The path steadily climbs gently and is nicely normally passable. I recommend crampons, as the step is safer. In the hut extremely friendly keepers and excellent food.

How is it with parking at Savica? Have they reduced it, is it well marked, do you have to pay... on the Bohinj website it says it's free, but I remember people complaining in summer about parking fines... how is it now?

You mustn't park on the road. Due to snow the parking at Savica is smaller than in summer. I recommend parking at least before 8am. Supposedly 10€ parking fee per day. If you meet someone collecting otherwise just gas. Good luck and best regards

I was there on 28.1. on Friday, at 9 there were 10 cars in the parking, no parking fee... Previous weekend I saw a post that due to nice weather there were tons of people, they were collecting 10€ parking fees...

For every case prepare euros for parking, and come early, because the parking fills up quickly. For parking on the road the wardens "stick" you a bill. Good luck
