Early in the morning in Konec, through Gamskov skret to Kogel 2100 m. nmv, past new bivouac under Grintovec, through the gate to Kokrško sedlo and from there to the valley! Mountain tops occasionally in fog but that didn't spoil the pleasant tour.

Yesterday we went from the cold and foggy valley to catch sun rays in the heart of Kamnik Alps. First a group of 4 paragliders went on the hunting path to Kalška gora. Wonderful weather and ideal conditions for carefree flying along the mighty walls of Grintovec made us decide upon landing at Kopiščih to go to Kogel too. For the approach to Kogel we chose the path through Gamsov skret. The jump or hardest part of the path is newly equipped with a cable and poses no problem for passage.smile
At the top of 2100 m high Kogel ideal conditions for paraglider takeoff await us. While flying over the wall, I spot and film 2 ropes, which were climbing in the wall of Kogel. Nice feeling!!smile

The path to Kogel is really a pathless path, which showed already in the morning when we faced the dilemma of right or left side of the track. Luckily at the upper parking we turned to the right side of the track. The path is extremely steep and becomes technically very demanding in bad weather - fog. And the fog itself and unusually trodden path towards the climbing area under Kogel led us to first turn up the scree. After correcting the mistake we crossed the path via Koglova ledge, which is extremely steep and dangerous. Much better variant is the lower path that leads to the cables. I don't recommend the path over Koglova ledge, especially in damp foggy conditions.

We went to Kogel. From Konec, through Žmavčarje to the bivouac under Skuta. We planned Skuta, but changed mind and went over Sleme to Kogel and from there to bivouac under Grintovec. Then through Vratca to Kokrsko sedlo and to the valley. There's still huge snow, so the path is quite demanding in places.

Goal was Skuta, but in the end we did a loop, over Žmavčarje, bivouac under Skuta, on to Sleme, Kogel 2100 m. nmv, Bivouac under Grintovec, then towards Cojzeva hut at Kokrsko sedlo and back to valley.

The day before yesterday, after morning Matkovem škafu still move to Kamniška Bistrica and then up towards Kokrško sedlo. By plan should sleep in bivouac under Skuta, but delays accumulated through day and at 19.30 no sense to continue from bivouac under Grintovec onwards.
Well, next day no big effort, pure enjoyment. First to Kogel, then over Sleme and one loooong pause still before bivouac under Skuta (say we looked like Czechs wink). For end just descent over Žmavčarje smile
A little before Sleme there still one snow patch (about 10m), which due steep terrain and slight descent (direction as we went) quite nasty and at least ice axe recommended. Otherwise sun yesterday really burned. Good there was some mist in the afternoon.

The most exposed part of the path across Sleme does not look scary at all, as snow covers that abyss. But a little earlier there is a nasty snowfield.6

Does anyone know if the wall in Kogel is dry or how much snow there is?

If Kamniško sedlo (according to the camera) is dry, then the Kogel wall is 100% dry...

Just asked if there is snow or not, and such a circus. I admit, 5 min later checked the cameras and it was all clear. Asked only because on Tuesday in the hills I saw how low the snow fell. Didn't think it would melt so fast. The forum is basically for sharing such info. But arguing with you is a total waste of time. angry

Today via Gamsov skret to Kogel. Back via Sleme and past bivouac under Skuta to the valley.
Another wonderful day in the mountains, almost no wind.nasmeh As I noticed, snow is only on top of Grintovec, Skuta, Rinke, Turska gora, Brana are without snow.

Yesterday climbed in Kogel, Virensova route. There were about five parties in different routes. Planned to continue to Skuta, but it was wrapped in clouds. Over Gamsov skret it's dry.

I didn't go climbing, but yesterday after a long time visited this beautiful viewpoint in the heart of KSA again. Since the day was exceptionally nice, conditions for walking very pleasant, I combined the excursion with a visit to Grintovec. Practically no visits, except some youngsters. At 8°C in the shade and almost no wind I wasn't rushing anywhere, as police curfew starts only at 9am.jezik
No snow on ascent, two larger patches were on descent to Mali Grintovec. After some steps in just-the-right-hard snow I was quickly in dry rocks. On M.G. I also let myself bask in the warm sun rays for a while. On Pode I turned right already before Mlinarsko sedlo, as the terrain is easily passable. I joined the trail a little before the junction that leads to Škrbina. There I ran into three hikers who were heading to Skuta and we chatted a bit at a safe distance. If I had known that in just over an hour they would experience a real drama in the rocks of Skuta, I would certainly have dissuaded them from that. In my opinion, they didn't continue towards Škrbina but instead headed steeply up between Štruco and Streža, and got into difficult terrain.
I wasn't far from my goal, on the summit I lay down in the dry grass for half an hour and munched. The bivouac isn't far, I saw people in it, so I didn't enter. On the little hill beside it I settled down for more lounging when a helicopter appeared. Since it circled in the air for quite a while, I thought it was a training exercise, but in the evening I learned from the media about the rescue...
Quick hop to Kokrško sedlo, I take the dry t-shirt off the clothesline and descend to the car.
P.s. If by chance those three people were not the ones rescued, I deeply apologize to them.
November, but a pure summer hike.1
