Today I did a walk on the plain near home. Even though it wasn't an ascent to some hill, due to the winter idyll and the rarely frozen lake in winter in Ljubljana, I decided to share the winter snapshot with you. Nice winter ahead!

Koseški bajer is again after some years nicely frozen and safe for skating, hockey, walks etc. There are quite a few arranged and cleared snow hockey fields. Before complete freezing, the eastern part of the lake was poorly frozen, sunny in the afternoon and one guy accidentally fell into the water. Luckily he got out by himself. Now as I managed to see at some break there's a good 15cm ice layer over the whole lake, over the weekend there were at least 400 people up there, so no problem. Ice floes also get buoyancy from the water surface, so no worry about loads. Enjoy!

Koseški pond is already frozen, individuals are already skating on it, ice is not yet thick enough to hold the weight of larger group of people on it. At the shore, when I approached two, the ice started popping.
Otherwise nice 6-7km walk there around the lake and back, after quite cold morning, recommend! .Body is just adapting with jump to such low temperatures, which will help for high mountain visits.

Went to the pond to check. Ice holds but not quite 100%. Some were already skating. No problem for swans, they can walk to the other side. Nice to look at.

With granddaughter we went to check Koseški pond. / unfortunately without skates / On the ice things are happening, I hope the thaw waits a bit longer.

This morning I did a beneficial walk to the frozen Koseški Pond, which is covered by a protective snow layer. Ice is solid enough for distributed load movement on it. Access from forest edges and wooden banks at Koseško settlement, except sunny northern shore and at Kačji pastir pub no!. This morning there -8C. Ice cracks a bit naturally with expansion, new ice forming. Few days ago local measured thickness already 8 cm, for the soul!
