Kugla / Sotinski breg

Print
tinky27. 09. 2012 17:04:41
My summit buddy invited me today to his home region. We went to Prekmurje, to Goričko Landscape Park. We started in Nuskova where we saw the salt spring, we continued to Kugla 418 m asl. From there we continued to the tripoint between Slovenia, Austria and Hungary, saw one of the oldest churches in Slovenia, St. Anna on Boreča, Marot Mansion in Mačkovci. At the end a snack in Seboborci at Marič. First time in that area and no regrets. Forgot the good cream slices at Vanilli in Kuzma. Apricots aplenty, we picked just a few.

Sotino (Kugla) I recommend to cyclists, yes even with road bike to the top, since gravel only last 50m flat, which I checked yesterday.

Today I went with the Savski mountaineers along the Pomurska trail to the highest hill of Pomurje. That's Sotinski breg - high 418 m, where there is a beautiful lookout tower. Stamp and logbook are also there. Then to the neighboring Rdeči breg, where there is a nice hut also with stamp and logbook. On the way back to Ledavsko Lake to farm tourism at the Ferenc's, where they serve friendly and have outside a real museum with old agricultural machinery. I highly recommend.
Our large group at the start of the path.1
This is the Pomurska path.2
Actually it's the Goričko landscape park.3
At first we walk a little through the forest.4
The path runs along the border with Austria.5
Soon we spot a little tower on some hillock.6
At the bend we realize this is already our goal - Sotinski breg - the highest peak of Pomurje.7
We approach the viewpoint tower on Sotinski breg.8
Viewpoint tower up close.9
In Yugoslavia they called the hill Kugla, in German it is Stattelberg.10
Next to it is a meteorological station.11
We reach the next peak - Rdeči breg.12
There is also a nice hut here with a stamp and logbook.13
On the way back we stop in Krašči village at farm tourism Pri Ferencovih.14
Their estate is like a museum with old farming tools.15
They preserve old farm machinery, including danfar (self-propelled steam engine that powered the grain thresher), about ninety years old.16
Nearby is Ledavsko lake, even with swans - truly beautiful, worth visiting.17

Velkavrh, congrats on the ascent.

Let me warn you, in the picture it's not a tractor but danfar (self-propelled steam engine), which drove the thresher for grain.

main, thanks! That's how I explained it to myself apparently. In their prospectus nothing is written about what it was used for. It's even shown fired up with raised chimney and steam coming from the front. Some exhibits are even monument protected and declared cultural technical heritage.

It's interesting to see those machines that worked in the first half of the last century. Technological progress of humanity is incredible.

That's true. But I am more amazed by machines and buildings before that time. Not to mention astronomy or mathematics. Many statements or measurements from before our era still hold today.

Today I wandered around my home Goričko, around the "roof" of Prekmurje, Kugla. I didn't photograph the famous tower from up close, because due to the steep slopes and sheer walls, I couldn't hold the cameravelik nasmeh:eekvelik nasmeh
Weather mostly sunny and not too hot, roads and paths dry - just right for hiking. If vacationing in Moravske Toplice or elsewhere in Prekmurje, I recommend the trip also to cyclists. Due to lack of hills here, the path is welcome to break the monotony of the plain. And some snapshots from the pathnasmeh

Today, when the morning drizzle stopped, I headed to the top of my native Prekmurje, to Kugla. I walked the circular path from the Šbüll inn, over the summit, from the hill to the fire station and further/backvelik nasmeh to the Šbüll inn.

By the way – next Sunday on Kugla (Sotinski breg) there will be a party and, among other things, they will roast an ox. Unofficially I learned that the person who manages to eat that ox bones and all in 1 hour and 23 minutes, and wash it down with (at least) 6 liters of schnapps, will be paid net 1,236,000.00 euros tax-freevelik nasmehmežikanjevelik nasmeh

From foggy MS, I escaped to Sotina in the morning, to "Kugla". I chose a circular path along the road from Šbüll inn, tower, fire station, Šbüll.
Path BP (of course asphaltvelik nasmeh), weather - sun and light "spring breeze". At the tower I met two shaggy dogs and an owner of Austrian origincool
Nice walk to blow all kinds of fog out of the lungs.

My brother and I, already by tradition at Christmas, set off to the "roof" of Prekmurje, to Kugla.
Weather a bit sour, but cold enough that there's lots of hoarfrost on the trees, some sprinkled on the ground too, giving a feel of light snow cover. Anyway, this Christmas on Kugla is the whitest of the last three or four. Nice walk and some chats with locals additionally spiced up the atmospherenasmeh
