Kum, conditions?

I'm interested in the conditions through Čebulna valley? Is it manageable or too snowy?

Considering that I'm home a bit outside Trbovlje, more precisely from Retje (altitude 500m) and we have around 10cm of snow here. I spoke with a guy from Kala (somewhere the altitude of Lontovž) and he says approx. cca. 15cm of snow on Kala, no panic that there'd be 0.5m on Kum. Probably around 30cm, which isn't so bad yet.

I'd just ask if by 2.1. there's some drastic change, to let us know.

I think sooner. 2nd is anyway hike to Kum so hikers from PD Trbovlje make the track before so no problem. I thought you wanted to go before new year like me when I go Sunday. Otherwise for new year forecast snow so don't know what on 2 Jan maybe even 1m snow at least I hope.

There were really many of us on Kum yesterday. It's a pity only that the weather wasn't the most favorable to us.

A bit skeptical, but still we went to Kum with the family. We started at Lentovž, where we parked by the ski slope. We continued on the marked footpath through the forest. Snow at Lentovž by my estimate cca 4-5 cm, on the Kum summit good 10 cm. Snow dry, road plowed. No regrets, weather held, just no views due to fog. LP Andrej

Today my better half and I went to Kum. I was a bit skeptical because Kum wasn't visible from Trbovlje. So I doubted the nice view of the Slovenian mountains. But it all paid off when I reached Kum. Great view: the complete Alps from the Kamnik-Savinja to the Julian Alps, plus Peč, Raduha, Pohorje, and Sljeme were visible. To the south, mighty Snežnik and some other peaks in Croatia. The start was in Lontovž, so we reached the top quite quickly. The path was very nice as there were already many kronc on the way to the top. The path was dry, only below the summit there was still some snow, which excited me a lot as I'm a big snow lover. So I can mark this ascent as a very nice one because the weather was very nice, even though we were already back in Trbovlje at 11:00.

Was anyone on Kum these holidays? I just got back from Vrhe, where it's a real winter fairytale. I plan to go to Kum this week.

Well, since there was no answer, I went alone from Trbovlje to Kum and can say it's a real winter idyll. Snow over a meter on top, so the path is quite hard.

What are the conditions for ascent to Kum via Čebulova dolina? How much snow, is it trodden?

Given that Kum was still without snow the day before yesterday, probably not much, so the path is probably passable, as I think there's no more snow than 10 cm.

today I went from Trbovlje via Čebulova dolina to Kum... snow up to 10 cm, where mixed with leaves walking is a bit annoying, otherwise pleasant because the snow is really white

After ten years on 2.1. back on Kum. At the start the path through the forest uphill a bit icy, through Čebulovo dolina snow well trodden, at the top such dense fog you could cut it. Return via road through Dobovec. Still nice New Year's day. Regards!

Today's conditions on path via Čebulovo dolina to Kum as follows: to farm a bit icy but almost no snow, from there on snow sinking to knees and more, through untrodden snow to top. eek

My first winter hike and after cca 15 years back on Kum.
Was fine. Weather calm and very foggy at top. Snow hardly sank so no gaiters needed. Icy nowhere.
