nasmehToday a short circular bike ride from Poljčane to Dravinjske gorice to Ljubično 533 m a.s.l.. Ljubično with the church of the Mother of God is also one of the points of the Loško-Zbelovska circular hiking trail and the trail through the wine hills...

Started in front of the railway station in Poljčane...and then through Lušečka vas towards Ljubično. Descent done to Lovnik into the valley of the Bela stream and continued towards Zgornji Poljčani and returned via Podboč back to Poljčane. Excellent riding conditions - mixed terrain - asphalt, macadam and forest path.

A bit more than 14 km and 280 elevation meters, which are gained in just over two kilometers is the short route statistics...

nasmehToday for a change a shorter walk to Ljubično to St. Mary's church and a bit further to the wooden cross and wooden benches at Mary's footsteps. These are the so-called Dravinjske gorice. Conditions for walking suitable for the season. Autumn colors slowly prevailing...Start and finish at the bridge over Dravinja river in Ljubično settlement.

On Sunday 04.11.2012 hiking to Ljubično mainly to make the first ascent to the summit or point in the somewhat wider area called Vir:. Zalonč is a 523 meter high peak and after checking several sources the only such geographical name in Slovenia. For starting point I chose Podpeč settlement, but there are several other suitable starts. On the web Zalonč is more of a gray spot but still it has been the site of a mountaineering orienteering competition. Below it I've done various activities and it was time to finally step on the top. It's excellently accessible and the ascent is easy. The highest peak is wooded and offers no views while somewhat more interesting is a few meters lower quite rocky peak in the ridge towards Lovnik. Then I descended a bit towards the Bela stream valley for a partial loop variant and return to start...

Yeah these are peaks or points that you mežikanje visit once, twice more in the style of perceiving the wider space between higher or more important peaks.

This afternoon easy walk to Ljubično from Podpeči. In the morning it snowed lightly but even higher up ,,nothing much stuck,,. The highest point called Ljubična gora measures 533 meters and is a bit above the church. Popular mainly among locals and somehow the most recognizable between the higher Boč and Konjiška gora. Path easy and without peculiarities.

14.05.2013 afternoon ,,miniature,, with mountain bike between Bela stream valley and Dravinja river and the plan was to connect peaks Zalonč 523 and Ljubično gora 533 m.a.s.l. into one story. Names for both peaks as I wrote - Slovenian unique...Zalonč has experienced a real little ,,forestry massacre,, and already from Poljčane massive logging is visible, as the peak visually from afar got a different-negative image. On site even more negative than expected and I didn't even have the will for the top...and quickly extended to Ljubična. If Boč for Poljčane and surroundings in broader sense is a recreational center of many activities, Ljubično with moderate recreational touch - also world of spirituality. Church below the peak of Mary's name somewhat widely marks this world between Maribor and Celje ,,regions,,. Extended also to the cross at Mary's footsteps - partly hiking and entry in the logbook.

For descent to valley there are several variants...I decided between descent via ,,Ocvirk,, directly to Ljubično settlement or via ,,Ferode,, to Podpeč. At the fork decision for Podpeč, because descent more MTB...Name via Ocvirk is old and well known but lately among younger population also name via ,,Gabra,, is establishing since Ocvirk farm changed ownership. Ferode is name after craft activity directly in the valley and lately the name stuck...Paths today due to reactivated many forest railways muddy and wet, temperature pleasant...Lp

21.05.2013 Tuesday connection of St. Michael on Pečica and Ljubična into one circular activity. St. Michael on Pečica via Lovnik and continuing... Dolge gore to the foot below Ljubično in easy tourist variant, while to Ljubično via ,,steep,, variant a bit west of Ferode in initial part by wooden weekend house steeply up to cross at Mary's footsteps, to keep the tour clockwise. Steepness is real but some of it could be ridden and even partly with bike over shoulders to the cross and heart rate in ,,red revolutions,,. From cross to church on Ljubična in hiking step due to strong ,,spiritual note,, of the described area. Descent to valley along Kohnetova gorca down to Ferode in Podpeč by Dravinja. Yes, a somewhat ,,narrower pocket,, in Ljubična area has been created and once in the future definitely also ascent & descent in reverse direction but for mežikanje some time Pečice and Ljubična are enough... Paths mostly dry and pleasant temperature.

They say that ,,nail drives out nail,,. After hiking activities on weekends at the beginning of the week definitely best dose of mountain biking in nearby area, opportunity for regeneration, summarizing impressions from paths in undemanding activity and a few hundred meters of elevation... today activity identical to two posts above from Bela stream valley, below Zalonč to Ljubično and descent to Ferode in Podpeči. Conditions more than mežikanje ideal.. Lp

And since there was still some ,,slack,, - time until mežikanje next weather front... logging from Studenice to Podpeči along Dravinja, today after long time by car and hiking connection of course from common point Zbelov grad and Ljubična in late autumn Sunday afternoon. One such undemanding activity, very calm between somewhat more historically strong Zbelov Castle and spiritual note of Ljubična, connected by flooding Dravinja river in the valley. More walk and observing really colorful autumn nature colors, which have enlivened a bit more with recent rains... and still surprisingly much green, obviously limestone world excellent base... In the evening, 03.07.2014 with mountain bike between the Bela stream valley in the east and Penoji in the west from home in Poljčane... Short activity between and below four peaks Rančka, Zalonč, Ljubična and Zbelovska gora for mežikanje mini quartet. Skipped the peaks, easily connected the world of four in an undemanding activity above the right bank of Dravinja. Path wet and muddy, moderate stormy night hours caused that... In Zbelovo still to the left bank to the Boč bakery for something fresh, wholegrain, since I was already here and along the line of least resistance by road back to Poljčane. Yes, it was really pleasant, some real kilometers higher above Dravinja and three hundred elevation meters just enough for mežikanje more than a ,,packed Thursday,,..

Today to Ljubično from Podpeči along Dravinja. Afternoon storms in the Dravinja valley also didn't pose an obstacle. Because the weather, always according to meteorologists mežikanje is right. Hiking to Ljubično this time. From Podpeči to all three important points. Church of St. Mary, Ljubična gora peak and cross at Mary's footsteps. The terrain heavily soaked and muddy. Path relatively easy, elevations solid. In 2.80 km it rises 280 elevation meters. Average slope thus 10%. Highest point Ljubična gora. Church of St. Mary east of the peak. Cross at Mary's footsteps on the western part of Ljubična. Logbook at Mary's footsteps. Many regular visitors, judging by the entries. Locals predominate. Some entries from farther away too. Quite a few practice this ascent every or almost every day. Interesting point is Ljubično, excellently accessible from several sides. Dravinja valley or Bela stream, which is a tributary of Dravinja certainly optimal starting points.

Ljubično & Zalonč. Afternoon by bike. Between Ferodo and Čobec or river Dravinja and its tributary Bela. Summit points skipped today. 500 meters elevation on this route unreachable. A few meters short. Paths dry, met no one. Time was already a bit late. Most in these parts hike to the cross at Mary's footsteps. Paths dry. Elevations rise quickly and you have to grind on parts of the route. Partly also Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail and continuing Wine hills trail. Due to extensive logging in these areas forest paths have recently undergone ,,transformation,, into forest rides. Ljubična is distinct karst world. On Zalonč some other rocks and the world is a bit wetter and consequently muddier. Both peaks a bit over 500 meters. Route sufficiently varied, quite some up and down parts and interesting mainly from the viewpoint of connecting the wide Dravinja river valley with the narrow Bela stream valley. Pleasant for short training when (for us) Boč just ,,doesn't appeal,,. No photos today...

Ljubično in a short bike loop...,,reached,, just below the very summit. Concrete ascent from Feroda along LZP to the chapel of St. Hubert. Continuation on the less steep left variant under the church itself at Ljubično to the last hut/vineyard. Here by the hut somewhere exactly ,,breaks through,, 500 meters elevation. Yes, Ljubično somehow more spiritual point above the right bank of Dravinja in the geographical area called Dravinjske gorice. Descent to Dravinja valley done back to the chapel on the steep variant and continuation via Ocvirk on one of the traditional paths to the Ljubična summit, of course along the path over Cerje. Start and end, of course Poljčane. Definitely pleasant, short activity in the evening and that's it...Ljubično between Feroda and Ocvirk,31.08.2014.Regards

Circular hiking over Ljubično. From Podpeči, from Feroda upwards and circling all three main points...Mary's church on the eastern part, the summit Ljubično in the central part and cross at Mary's footsteps on the western part. Descent down in steep ridge variant to settlement Zbelovska gora/farm Kovačič and closing the loop on asphalt connection back to start at Podpeč to the bridge over Dravinja. After correction/adjustment 4.59 kilometers. Not exactly rich in kilometers, nor in elevation, but Ljubično still one such interesting mini activity. No photos today. Photo material already plenty in contributions above. Nature is slowly dressing in autumn colors...

From Podpeči/bridge over Dravinja near ,,velbah,, past Feroda higher into the world...Ljubične, church of St. Mary a basic point somewhere that marks this world of wider connections between Boč & Konjiška gora... Four more short additions since I already mežikanje ventured hiking higher into the misty world...towards settlement Zbelovska gora to the cross at Mary's footsteps, towards settlement Lovnik/area of zidanic to road Lovnik-Zbelovska gora, towards valley of stream Bela or Cerju, to Poljčane to lonely abandoned homestead and towards settlement Ljubično/Poljčane to cross above Ocvirk... Visibility poor from 0-20 meters higher, paths soaked, partly muddy...

Afternoon, 02.06.2015 by bike/MTB higher into the world of 533 m high Ljubične and 448 m high Strmca. Today from Poljčane via farm Čobec and on Ljubični rode roughly all three main points...at church of St. Mary of the seven graces, summit 533 m height and Mary's footsteps/cross. Added descent along Kohnetova gorca to Vučajnkova gorca/cross. Continued or returned to the world of 448 m high peak Strmec. This is the peak whose lower part towards south east has in past decades already mežikanjewell disappeared/Granite quarry. Above quarry extended to Kovačeva gorca/cross. Descent could have done directly to Zgornje Poljčane but return back and again past farm Čobec back to Poljčane...

Some basic mežikanje(over)view into the world of Ljubične and Strmca...also a bit of Rančka and Zalonča. Could be sharper, could also be much easier...but for one Tuesday late afternoon say quite enough for basic stretch above right bank of Dravinja river and left bank of Bela stream, which somehow mark and limit this world below in the valley...No photos today, anyway enough pictures from previous activities...

In the afternoon short walk to Ljubično...roughly all three main points along the path from Podpeči along Dravinja. On return to Dravinja river valley still flat extension on right bank to start of settlement Penoje and back. Temperature pleasant, partly clear and cloudy...paths soaked and partly muddy.

Ljubično at hiking pace. From Podpeči from the bridge over Dravinja i.e. Feroda up the LZ path past the church, over the 533 m high peak to the wooden cross at Mary's footsteps. Entry in the hiking logbook and down the western ridge to settlement Zbelovska gora. Many entries and quite some locals are extremely diligent/actually daily visitors of Ljubična. This path section, today downhill - one of the best sections in my humble opinion somewhere on the entire trail between Slovenske Konjice/Konjiška gora - Boč - Donačka gora - Macelj/Sotle source. Followed a connecting extension, unfortunately asphalt back to the bridge in Podpeč settlement. Today dry autumn path, daylight in late afternoon mežikanjequickly faded, some light wind and pleasant nasmehit was with leaf-rich - interesting circular routes... Regards

Short hike to Ljubično. Podpeč ob Dravinji/Ferode ideal starting point and today two points in somewhat lower northeastern world. Vučajnkov cross and Hubert's chapel mark this area somehow. It was around noon quite sufficient in less than an hour on easy forest path. Dry ground and pleasant sunny day was...Ljubično/Vučajnkov križ and Hubert's chapel, 02.12.2015 Regards

Easy rainy/foggy "recovery hike" to Ljubično, definitely the most spiritual point in the world between Boč and Konjiška gora. Start and end in Podpeč ob Dravinji. Five main points were planned... Vučajnkov cross, Hubert's chapel, church of St. Mary of the seven graces, Ljubično533 summit and cross at Mary's footsteps. They interestingly line up along the ridge in east-west direction. That one and a half hour was pleasantnasmeh. mežikanje What to add, surely better than mourning the weather on the couch or as G. Andrej Pečenko says - "the weather always is"...Pešpoti, Ljubična, 01.05.2016 and Strava/Ljubično, 01.05.2016 Regards
