Wednesday -10.8. – nice days really invite to the mountains; this time to planina Podvežak, towards Korošica to Sedelce, then to Little Ostrica to the "miniature Aljaž tower"; nice path, especially Korošica, the summit of Little Ostrica also quite "oyster-like" and airy for me; clouds raced across the sky, but this time at least not laden with "wetness" like on Saturday, hikers aplenty; helicopters flew over Veliki vrh area, but fortunately no later trace of any emergency intervention; and pics of conditions; lp

Ideal weather for the mountains, this time the path took us to Mala Ojstrica.
Very nice path, nice weather and above all lots of people. Obviously very popular destination for hikers. nasmeh

This time on the upper part of the path of our compatriot from Slovenske Gorice, over Mala Ojstrica to Ojstrica. On arrival at Planina Podvežak and further to Sedlo we were promised a beautiful day with clear weather for wandering the beauty of Ojstrica. But soon, already at the pot on Mali Ojstrica we realized nature's fickleness and that enjoying views of neighboring peaks today won't amount to much. I don't know why all clouds decided to gather exactly at 2000m height in three hours, and thus didn't disturb helicopter transport of materials for renovation of Kocbekov dom at Korošica. On the path from Planina Podvežak to Sedlo, at the trough no trace of water.
P.S. On the path between Mala Ojstrica and first climbing section managed to lose black Suunto wristwatch.
Up to here the sky was clear1
already on Mali Ojstrica the picture changed2
view through the window, without Robanov kot3
in hope further to the top, that it will be nicer up there4
but nevertheless we were wrong5
but on Korošica it was already nicer6
and view back from Kocbekov dom to the top7
water supply currently not working8
We girls also did our share on the mountain and would already like to go home9

Maybe someone is interested in a slightly more solitary variant that branches off the path to Sedelce a few minutes above Molička planina to the right and through scree to the summit. It offers really nice views of the Dleskovška planota and due to steepness certainly won't be flooded by crowds for long.

We set off to Mala Ojstrica on 29 October 2011. The path ran from Planina Podvežak towards Korošica, at Kocbekov dom we turned right to Mala Ojstrica.
Weather was wonderful, fog in the valley, sun and snow up top. Temperatures for thin T-shirts, brave ones were even all the time in short sleeves.
Anyway we were first on this path since snow fell, so we made a track for you, so boldly to Mala Ojstrica mežikanje

All who go to that end I'd like to ask how much snow is still on Veliki vrh on Dleskovška planota. On VV there are alpine routes on its south side; please provide this information while weather still holds.

The path to the Ojstrica summit is snow-free. 5.11.2011. I was on Ojstrica.

My today's goal was actually Ojstrica, but conditions weren't favorable, so I went only to Little Ojstrica. Better than nothing. The morning already didn't look like everything would be ok. The road to Podvežak has never been worse since I drive it, also lots of stones on the road (I removed some myself). Cloudiness, then strong icy wind. This time via hunting path at Brežiči. Path unmarked but easy to follow, scenic.... Took me to saddle before Korošica, then wind strengthened... dilemma where now... to Ojstrica in this weather... no thanks... well I'll try Little. Went nicely, quite some snow on path not frozen (sinking to knees in places (drifts), so second half direct up dry rocks. Wind blew clouds away and nice views rewarded effort. Couldn't stay long on summit. Snack some pics and straight back down. Well in end nice tour. Ojstrica will wait another weeknasmeh

Early morning, as always head to pl.podvezak park at ramp, off we go.
First to molicka planina where fantastic view opens on robanov kot all in fog like white sea, then further on kocbekova to Little Ojstrica also wonderful views over valleys with fog. Descend to korosica there fog already awaits. Hut still open but not much longer..

Today after long time again towards Ojstrica, but fog messed up so landed only on Little. But good that's something. Start at planina Podvežak and soon higher snow begins. Path not trodden. Even if you know it you stray off - best stick to winter markers - those few-meter poles sticking up every 50m. Snow still around 1.5m in places, but well compacted and morning no punching through, later yes, rotten very heavy to walk. To Kocbek hut no winter gear needed if on winter path, but to a summit mandatory crampons + axe.

Zvončica@ 8.6.2014 was on little Ojstrica, conditions quite ok here and there little snow on path nothing special went from Pl.Podvežak over Molička Pl. to Sedlce and along ridge to Little Ojstrica just go up no problems and check my pics on Ojstrica Forumnasmeh

Afternoon from under pl.Podvežak to Little Ojstrica, back over Tolsti vrh, Desko. Mixed conditions, without crampons, ice axe wouldn't work. Chasms all still filled in, but not much more snow. In places hard as concrete, in next days conditions will change further.
here I abandon the idea of ascent to Ojstrica1
and I go to Mala Ojstrica, from that side I have already walked to the top2

Planina Podvežak - Little Ostrica

The road to the starting point is in very good condition, maybe a bit torn up at times by forest tractors. The start of the path is very demanding due to hundreds of uprooted spruces. (probably a storm)
There is still quite a lot of snow at times, even more than 2m, starting 300m above the shepherd huts.
Unfortunately, we did not reach the summit because we didn't dare cross the steep slope before the ascent to Little Ostrica.
The snow is melting incredibly fast, and the path is, in my opinion, demanding and dangerous due to the snow.

TamaraTP, please provide info on how it is with fallen trees around Planina Podvežak, on the marked path to Korošica and to the hunting hut at Brežiči? Are the paths passable?
