I'm wondering if anyone was up there these days, how's the path?

Was there on Wednesday. You can get up, but not optimal. Especially in the upper half of the slope above the pass the snow was weird and I wasn't sure it couldn't slide. So in that part I crawled more to the side and on rocks. The first half of the slope is ok, windblown and hard. That part I skied.

On Saturday 23 April we headed with a colleague from Rudno Polje to Viševnik. Then we descended to Srenjski Pass and climbed to Mali Draški vrh. Followed descent back to Srenjski Pass from which we went down to Jezerca and returned to Rudno Polje. Conditions were quite good, no need for crampons. Some snow from Zlate Vode to the base of Viševnik where scree ends and on descent from Viševnik to Srenjski Pass. On MDV we avoided rare snow tongues so we went up almost on dry ground. But the path, as known, is very crumbly. Descent from Srenjski Pass to Jezerca on snow was pure enjoyment. Likewise the walk to Rudno Polje. Interestingly, despite nice weather there were few hikers. We saw only five or six and those from afar. Also at Rudno Polje on return only about 15 cars.zmeden

Today we climbed from Rudno Polje via Kačji Rob and Srenjski Pass to Mali Draški vrh. Descent back to Srenjski Pass, ascent to Viševnik and descent on the south side back to start. Weather fantastic, occasionally light wind, excellent visibility. Some frozen snow only in the shady area on the north side below Viševnik. Path from Srenjski Pass to MDV summit is dry. Some caution needed though, as we move on very crumbly and locally steep terrain.
Viševnik had quite a few visitors, on MDV we were alone.

Also today on Viševnik, MDV and Debelem Vrh beautiful weather and views. Hikers everywhere full, as if it was weekend. Also at Blejska Hut the keeper had quite some work... Pity the weather will spoil tomorrow. These days are the best!

Today my dad and I headed to Little Draški Peak. Little snow, can do without winter gear no problem. Actually snow holds only in form of small patches. On shady side there's some snow but rocks stick out from it. Up the steep gully from Srenjski Pass to summit, then we wanted towards Great Draški Peak, found anchor for descent but didn't have rope, so turned back. On summit ridge we turned down one gully too early and followed tracks. So we weren't first to take that gully. We went left to ridge to look around. There we found a footprint. Obviously predecessor did same as us - realized mistake at same time, also went to ridge to look, then turned up,… Then we headed up and found right path for descent.

Yesterday I managed to get a free day in anticipation of deterioration and used it to visit mountains above Pokljuka. Since I was on Great Draški Peak recently, this time from Rudno Polje along horse paths to Jezerca, then towards Studorski Pass. A bit below the pass I turned up the gully to Ablanca. Snow is good, crampons bite well, just here and there a bit too little so have to scratch on rock a bit. On ridge strong wind, so didn't linger much on summit.
After short stop at sunny Jezerca I tackled the steepness to Srenjski Pass and further up gully to Little Draški Peak. Judging by footprints it had visitors in previous days. Wind didn't reach into gully and progressed nicely. Snow conditions similar to Ablanca, but some spots where ice axe didn't find best hold, but somehow went. Descent mostly glissading, felt better.
For the end still to Viševnik, where behind a rock I found some shelter from (despite different forecast) still persistent winds and enjoyed wonderful views and the tour I did. Then over Plesišče back to valley. Anyway nicely used day, who knows when next such.

Some today's glimpses from MDV. Crowds and columns everywhere, both on roads and in mountains. Only our peak luckily was empty early in the morning. Because of crowds we avoid Viševnik. Ascent and descent via Kačji Rob, which these days is full of alpine flowers.

The secured section of the path from Studorski to Srenjski Saddle is in good shape.

Lucky we have mountains.

On one of the wonderful days last week we climbed Little Draški Peak via the western ridge. The hardest part was crossing the steep grass slopes by which we approached the summit rocky head. The climbing section is shorter but nice and panoramic. Main part is a chimney with good rock (II). On the top we lounged for a long time in the warm sun before returning via Viševnik to Rudno Polje.

Some photos from today's ascent to Little Draški Peak. After a long time with two ice axes, it was much easier. Up there half steps, hard and conditions good. Descent due to steepness backwards.

Via eastern ridge to Little Draški Peak, started hiking around 17.00. Ridge rated II degree, first left and up through bushes then right to ridge. Past two pitons, climbing short.

Yesterday from Rudno Polje via Viševnik to Little Draški Peak and back the same way. Path to Viševnik dry, between Viševnik and Srenjski Saddle some snow patches, no problem (no winter gear needed). Path from Srenjski Saddle to MDV dry but less traceable. Still plenty of snow below Viševnik north side and between Jezerca and Studorski Saddle.
