Yes, yesterday our goal was also Mišelj Peak, but the story turned out completely differently ... on the path where you need to turn right - no cairn, we forgot the map in the car, we already know how to help ourselves with this map ... and so we arrived at Mišelj Pass, too high, so the substitute goal was Prevalski Stog, but since we wanted to go to Jezerski Stog too, we looked for a passage, looked, looked ... then we fiddled with something else, anyway wandered off-path on chamois trails, the chamois which we met several times, and of course the gentleman viper ...and in the end repeated ascent to Stog, towards Velem Polje, Vodnik Hut ... Since we are stubborn, we'll go conquer this mouse, namely from this peak there's a wonderful view of Triglav. Of course we visited old acquaintances from three years ago, where we sheltered from the storm at Velem Polje. Czechs again in full swing conquering Triglav, I'm interested if there's data on overnight stays in our huts. LP!

At least last year there were still cairns, but it's quite overgrown there, so you have to keep your eyes peeled. The bend offers itself anyway, because the steep end of the valley opens nicely straight ahead, the path starts turning towards the pass. There are several passages from A&E, but all very steep and better for ascent.

We missed the initial one ... next time it'll be different , but we heard from a hiker who knew the path that hunters make an effort to remove the cairns. ps - the map was crucial, but so what when we remembered it at Konjščica pasture. LP!

I suggest a walk along the entire ridge (if you're not complete beginners, since at three points there is difficulty up to grade II.) Start at Koštrunovec 2102 and finish at Mišelj End 2464. Under pic 6 you can write Eva and Adam.

This end I walked last year late autumn to Stog I found myself a jump III and to Mišelj Peak I first went right to Koštrunovec there I saw it would be too much to go up to the peak (some snow), went down lower and left then along the ridge to the top, usually I walk around the mountain and look for smart passages. But paths around there a sea.

On 1.8.2012 we also looked for the initial cairn, but it wasn't there, well the valley under Mišelj Peak is hard to miss, because there's no other, just need to persist, higher up a very clear path shows up. On the return we placed a cairn right on the marked path.

Well it really wasn't long - and it was time for Mišelj, this time we didn't miss the branch from the marked path, although we had to look for the trodden path for a while, but now I know, the branch is at the big marmot dwelling ,.. The hike is gorgeous, the view of Triglav even better, that day there was a real invasion on Triglav, since there was mass at Kredarica. Beautiful parts of our beautiful Slovenia. LP!

Did you two get to the summit around 15h?? I was looking up and hoping someone visited this interesting and rarely visited peak . Otherwise this tour has tempted me for quite a while to do it. It always slips by me .

Peter2 wrote "at Mišelj Saddle. There we left the path and headed pathless towards Mišelj Valley." I also thought about this route, I'm wondering if there's any difficulty in between, and if passages to Mišelj Valley can be found easily. Probably going under Škednjovec in direction of Mišelj Peak? Thanks and best regards!

From Mišelj Saddle you quickly reach Mišelj Valley across plateau-like terrain. Follow the grassy passages between scree approximately in the direction of the grassy saddle left of Mišelj Peak, which you have to ascend for the climb to it. A bit more demanding orientation-wise only at the start, even easier in the reverse direction. Lp

From Mišelj Saddle it makes sense if coming from Krstenice pasture. If coming from Konjščica via Malo polje and pasture below Mišelj Peak then better choose the access which bmare mentions and added a nice picture of. This access is also easier orientation-wise since less scree. With cairns it's really like that, sometimes they are there, other times not. Lp

Thanks for the replies, I meant from Krstenice, this way we don't lose elevation. Lp

Hello, does anyone who's been to the summit recently have any info if there's a stamp at the top? Last year in October apparently there wasn't.

there was no stamp at the top this year

the stamp is a bit further from the logbook box, standalone - at least last time it was there I think it's still there this year Lp!
