Today I set off still in the dark from Ljubelj to the hut at Zelenica and further along a quite difficult-to-pass path to the 1784 m high peak Na Možeh. Weather beautiful without wind and quite warm. From the summit where there is very little space Stol, Vrtača, Palec, Zelenjak, Ljubeljščica ridge, Košutica, Veliki vrh and of course Begunjščica are nicely visible.

This morning I went with fellow alpinists on the ridge traverse of Mož. The ridge Na Možeh consists of four rocky peaks rising north above Zelenica. From Zelenica they look inaccessible to the average hiker. That's true. Traversing their colorful ridge is one of the most difficult ridge traverses in the Karavanke. Counting from east to northwest: First, Second (highest 1784m), Third and Fourth Mož. Elevations marked as 1746, 1756 and 1754m. Actually they were never precisely measured - at least that's what it says. Start at Ljubelj parking, then to the hut at Zelenica and to the start at saddle Čez Pod - also Triangle (Selenitzasattel). Use of safety gear and belaying is mandatory. Here our path starts through scree - in many places hard to push through - all scratched up - long pants mandatory. Follows gully and ledges and somehow we climb to First Mož. Then through gully and notch. Traverse is very demanding. Descent from Second Mož is the hardest part. No other way than abseil down smooth wall about 20 meters - maybe even 30. To Third and Fourth Mož a bit easier. Throughout quite a lot of climbing on slabs. Must be extremely careful with hand and foot holds, as it's very crumbly. Then just traverse two towers which are already Palec ridge and down scree.

Here is the descent from the Second Mož-the most demanding part of the traverse.

This is the Second Mož and on the left rock we descend vertically with rope down.

Now descent over two little peaks which are already the Palec ridge.

Actually nowhere is rope descent necessary. But true, it's more "fancy" that way. Congrats Branko for the tour. Now also in winter. mežikanje

Actually they bypassed the gap between II. and III. Mož, from which they also abseiled. mežikanje

...IV.(pic 17) has a little man and smooth slab, over which in descent...in the bushy saddle (pic 11) there's another descent variant... mežikanje

On the jubilee visit to the Na Možeh ridge, on my personal holiday, I "dared" to place a summit log on the top of the highest and most beautifully adorned II. Mož, for all future visitors. The log is near the little man, under the "orange" stone. The act is meant well and I hope it won't be a "thorn in the foot" for anyone... thanks

Yesterday visited the ridge on Na Možeh and sorry I didn't look for the summit book earlier, will need to repeat nasmeh

We two then continued along the ridge to Palec and Zelenjak...Nice and interesting traverse and scrambling, we two belayed at two places, or rather rappelled from the last one on rope then ridge onwards...

Real summer traverse of the ridge. Snow is only still in the gully under 1st Mož.

The encounter of the ice axe and the rope was neither pleasant nor useful

The anchor for abseil is "renewed" (24.7.). Otherwise forgot to photo it more closely, but it's visible for now (pic. 12). We two used the existing one, someone changed the damaged rope and added a ring. The stance ropes looked OK, the more careful ones can still make their own mežikanje

..at the beginning some bushwhacking through scrub..

and a bit of riding the narrow ridge :-)

then along this initially eroded gully to the marked path to Zelenica (nice climbable jump in between)

Traverse without peculiarities. Both belay points excellently set up. On descent from ridge to marked path the scrub still holds on quite a bit.

A little help please. If wanting to go direct to the second (highest) Mož and avoid the first, technically easiest along the green band, approx as I drew below (photo from Triangel) or differently? Understand it's full of scrub, but that somehow, I suppose.

Did I mark the second peak correctly or is it more in the continuation of the ridge or maybe behind the first and not visible?

But the description on hribi.net (https://www.hribi.net/izlet/ljubelj_na_mozeh/11/542/927) describes exactly that "my" variant? From Zelenica straight up to saddle between first and second Mož?

After work our group of 5 at 15:00 from the parking at Ljubelj pass heads to the hut at Zelenica, from there to the Triangle, where our traverse of the "Na Možeh" ridge starts. On the whole trail 1 abseil is needed from the 2nd tower (30m rope). From Palec directly to Zelenjak - exit on the slab at the cross on top. From there descent via the normal route to the saddle under the SV ridge of Vrtača, which offers wonderful climbing to the Vrtača summit. Descent on the marked path to the hut at Zelenica and further to the parking at Ljubelj pass. The tour took us 6.5 hours with breaks. (1500m elevation and 14 km). PS: path through scrub nicely maintained.
