Four of us went completely independently. It's doable if you prepare well in advance, meaning you know someone who's been and gather enough information.

thanks, yes really unforgettable.
@lukec,
by far the biggest expense are flight tickets, that's 3/4 of the cost, you need at least three weeks time, because include reserve for bad weather, especially Lukla is tricky with lots of flight cancellations

We weren't on Island Peak.
We did the classic Everest trek with peaks Chhukung Ri 5550m, Kalapattar 5650m, Cho La pass 5368m and Gokyo Ri peak 5357m. We didn't go to base camp because at this time it's quite uninteresting to view as it's already empty.
But we had real luck with the weather as the sun shone all 15 days of the trek with pleasant daytime temperatures.

It depends who you go with.
Lots of providers here list all costs. We went with an expert of these parts and the cost was much lower (no advert).
We got the flight Brnik-Kathmandu-Brnik for only 520Eur. (booked February).
