In Primorska, by all rules, prosciutto is at home, not ham!

Potica is usually walnut, but can be any other, prosciutto or ham, horseradish,... they know that on farms and in cities. In Primorska prosciutto is really at home, some Styrian immigrant might prefer ham for that

Pirhovec

|
|
|
| atoamac11. 12. 2011 16:34:56 |
That's right, Pirhovec on the Polovnik ridge.

| wolphgang11. 12. 2011 16:42:23 |
Now I'd ask for an explanation, what Polovnik has to do with prosciutto etc.

What if it's Veliki vrh .

Okay, explanation: Pirhovec, 1661m, we connect with pirhi. These are hard-boiled eggs, usual in the Easter menu. This menu also includes potice, horseradish, ham or prosciutto. Šodrovc's half sausage hinted at Polovnik (Pol-Polovnik), because Pirhovec is one of the main peaks on the Polovnik ridge. The other one, behind the photographer's back, is Veliki vrh, then there's also Krasji vrh above the pastures Zaprikraj and Zapleč. That's how we get the connection of Polovnik with prosciutto.

Aha, taken from the saddle between Veliki vrh and Pirhovec, below Planina Dolec, where the path (mulatjera) comes up over Morizno. Recommended.
