The church was burned by Italians, descendants of multi-thousand-year-old cultures in 1942.

Julius, were the attempts towards Primorska correct then?

That's probably below 500 m asl. But can this even be considered a mountaineering riddle?

Of course it falls under a mountaineering riddle. In Slovenia we distinguish six relief types: plain, hillock landscape, hills, mountains and low and high plateau (Gabrovec and Hrvatin, 1998, 82–83). Peaks of mountains rise above the forest line, in hills the height difference between ridges and valleys is 300–1000 meters, hillocks are areas with height differences between ridges and valleys up to 300 meters.

Gora Trma, quite likely not below 500m. It is very much a mountaineering riddle. Writers of mountaineering guidebooks would be horrified at the question asked, let alone authors of circular tours.

I'm glad such a provocative question provokes such informative answers. Riddles are for learning something, right? Now at least we know it's over 500m above sea level Julius, is it then from the Julians towards the Coast?

We know it's higher than 500m, not on the Coast and not in Posočje. Also not in Prekmurje. Well, that narrows it down. Oh, height is over 600m.

Kočevarjev heritage yes, but the village has its own name and is several good hours' walk from Gače.

Koprivnik? Golobinjek? Resa?

No Turbo. It was a nice village. They still mow the meadows. It's an hour and a half's walk to the first asphalt.

Yes, that's right. The village was called Pugled pri Starem Logu. For Gora-Trma the height is also 645m. At Pugled the poet and writer Miran Jarc fell on August 24.
