My professor and assistant, ironically for statics, died because of a bad anchor when descending from V. Rokava.
It kept me out of the hills for a good 10 years, it touched me...

Grega, I know there's a real problem with those prusiks on the belays, because you don't even know how old they are and they can be very dangerous (weathered), mostly due to weather effects.
I've also added some myself for extra safety.

Well I don't know, they taught us in materials if the color is bleached, the strength isn't what it should be.
Though for construction materials/products from plastics... but...
