Just that everything ended safely, even if there's some cost compared to life

I agree with Mukica. I'd just add that the story is really interesting and instructive, and the photos highlight it well.

It can happen to anyone. Lucky that you acted that way and they rescued you alive. As for GRS, of course we've known for ages that the state is a real stepmother to them

Fuck, Bojan, you're really speedy. Good report you wrote, I laughed at the end. You're really tough, strong lad. You know how to fuck it up! You know, I'd like to see you at some mountain running race, or just run together in hills like before! Good job!!!

Bojan, you did well to opt for the emergency exit, but don't wander the mountains like that anymore. Today I spoke with the trainee at Vadinah and she hikes-climbs well in the mountains. She confirmed to me that she doesn't tackle pathless terrain without proper belaying. The keeper of Kranjska koča added that yesterday they circled around there quite a bit with steel birds. Still, congrats on the bold climbing already on the edge of alpinism. For more advice ask Bor at K2 or Rok at Anapurna. They'll know how to act and protect when venturing (just like that) into such a demanding world.

No doubt, all blame is on our side. But it's not true that we didn't master the rope team movement technique. Domen is a higher alpinism trainee, and I also attended alpinism school. We had pitons and a hammer with us. Still, it's much easier to make belay points (anchors) by slinging a sling around a horn than hammering. Climbing has left me a bit now. I'll stick to mountain running. See you on Saturday at the Steel Triathlon in Bohinj and on Sunday at the Mountain Run to Dražgoše hill. Best, Bojan

Don't blame yourselves, what happened happened, because with that you only get a block on Vishuddi, the throat center of consciousness, which in awakened state is managed by Lord Sri Krishna in man. Puja in his honor happens just at the end of August in Cabella Ligure, near Genoa. But when we become pure Spirit-Purusha from conditioned soul, everything we do is spontaneous and right, of course without ego on the hint-impulse of the Creator God.

Guys don't blame yourselves, no need for that! The brave know when they need help because conditions exceed their position and abilities. The wall will stand there for years! Important that you two are safe Good triathlon to you and of course many good ascents in the future

When I read Bojan A's article, it really chilled me. All's well that ends well. Where the limits of human reason are, depends on the individual. Well, you showed it when you gave up. But did you give up at the right time, maybe should have earlier? Who knows? I believe you have enough of this "nightmare" in the crumbly world for a while. Hats off to GRS. LP

Bojan, I read your adventure, and at the end read that Davo would help you over the obstacle. So don't throw the gun in the bush. I think you couldn't have had better escort, since it's Davo's backyard.

Bojan, you decided correctly, I feel you had a hard time deciding for help, you acted correctly. In this story I see nothing irresponsible, just that it ended well. Regarding the helicopter payment, I think they shouldn't bill you, what our splendid politicians do with public money and nobody answers for anything "flight to Sarajevo 36,000 and nobody cares" etc... I wish you lots more enjoyment in the mountains. Hats off to GRS, these are guys and men as an example to the rest of us.

When we were descending from Planjava on Saturday, we listened and watched a helicopter for about an hour, which fog below Rinkami occasionally hid. Lowering, lifting, circling - no doubt what it was about. A quiet, sincere wish wells up from the heart: hope it's not anything serious! Good luck to him, whoever it is. And may the helicopter with rescuers not crash anywhere. Bojan, you're very young, yet I estimate you already have a lot of experience. You don't know where this new experience will come in handy. Every thing is always good for something. You two got into trouble and made a smart decision. I also think of your parents. Who among active mountaineers could say they'll never need GRS help? If I ever do, I hope I greet them still alive and healthy, just like you two. Good luck!

@strelec1954 - all this about free helicopter rides really shouldn't be generalized and silly comparisons made with politicians. Where does that get us? There have been and every year there still are cases where someone gets a little blister on the first path to Triglav or is tired and walking simply bores them and they call for help. In Jesenice hospital they suddenly feel great and calmly walk out. Any normal person would slap a fine on such a person, after all the helicopter might really be needed elsewhere at that moment. But such a smart aleck can claim that from his view the Skuta case was exactly the same. Both times people went to the mountain and at some point realized they can't go further and best to call help. But who's the judge to bill whom and not? Maybe voting based on sympathies on this forum? We need some clearer rules so GRS isn't exploited unnecessarily. If help is really needed no dilemma it's free, but to "tourists" and drunks they should mandatorily charge the flight.

Hi. When were you two in the N. pillar of Skuta? Sunday maybe? My friend and I climbed Zajeda Skute then but didn't know something special was happening "around the corner". If we had, we'd definitely have helped. We reached the valley around 6pm, so probably didn't hear or see the helicopter... How interesting life can be!
