I wonder if anyone has walked these sections these days from Okrešelj towards Turska gora past Turski žleb or towards Savinjsko sedlo. A friend told me the path is like a highway but snow fell recently! Thanks for the answer

Hi From Kamniško sedlo I photographed these heroes at 12.52 when they were ascending towards Turski žleb.

Thanks pikec! Next week I'll tell how the hike to Turski žleb was!

Yesterday two went past Turski žleb to Turska gora! From Okrešelj to žleb it sinks a bit then hard packed snow not frozen! So barely goes without crampons otherwise recommend. Here is picture www.turni-klub-gora.si/~frances/razmere/

Mavhar, were you under the žleb behind us? It is true though, to Turska gora we arrived on Sunday THROUGH Turski žleb. That winter gear (ice axe and crampons) is mandatory for this winter approach, every average experienced mountaineer knows... And currently the žleb is quite nicely firm! Cheers.

I'm curious which path is easier in these conditions from Turski žleb to Rinke or from Savinjsko sedlo to Rinke? Thanks

The ascent through Turski žleb is substantially easier than that from Savinjsko sedlo.

In the given conditions, none of the paths to Rinke is really easy. From Savinjsko sedlo, however, the upper part is especially technically demanding, if everything goes well in Turski žleb (snow, rocks).

How about the path from Savinjsko sedlo to Rinke regarding orientation? Is the path perhaps somewhat trodden? Thanks

If you don't know the route, the conditions, or the kilometers of such an ascent, don't venture just like that. For that there are qualified mountain guides who take you up in suitable conditions. An excellent connoisseur and local is Davor Karničar, who recently made a climbing ascent to Koroška Baba 2127m in the west wall, route of Viktor Krč – Check on Gore-ljudje - News - Large amount of snow.

Tonemedved, have you hiked the path Savinjsko sedlo, Križ or Koroška Rinka already in summer conditions? The path is demanding. Now in these conditions, friend, don't rush into disaster. Regards, Franc

I wholeheartedly apologize for the mistake, mountains pull me so I'm already quite naive. I agree with the wolf that winter gear is mandatory, especially for such demanding paths. Thanks for warning me. I don't know if the book will help much with experiences:S

Yes more carefully although a bit crazy we all are anyway - I'd like you to write something again sometime rather than they put some memorial plaque for you somewhere on the wall good luck and better with crampons without blueberry brandy than vice versa

Yesterday I hiked the path from Okrešelj to Turska gora through the gully. The snow is hard and holds well. Complete winter gear is mandatory, plus through the snow you see quite a few rocks that have flown down, so helmet on your head. Otherwise divine, except the wind as always. With the car you can barely reach Planšarski dom, no problem to Dom planincev.

This morning at the turning point "pleasant" -8 degrees, road is passable. First we went to Dom na Okrešlju for tea and then headed towards Turski žleb. Not much snow towards Žleb and it's powdery, some places bare. Crampons gripped poorly so we decided before entering Žleb to veer right towards Savinjsko sedlo. Some track to the saddle is made, while in Turski žleb wind erased tracks of predecessors. Regards

Hi Garmont. Yesterday's track to Savinjsko sedlo is mine. I saw you when I was returning... you were resting under Turski žleb (I whistled and waved). Yesterday we were apparently the only ones in this part of KSA. Conditions really nothing special, and road is pure ice (I ended up in ditch, good I had shovel). Regards and good luck
