Also, Mudna dol Hahlić is not a bad trip. Close to yours. Pics a bit worse, but they'll do for a taste.

@Wine, don't complain, it's nice. You'll save on gear and have money for higher mountains. Nice regards

Actually it would be more correct Hahlić and Mudna dol, so I won't open a new topic. Most interesting is right in Mudna dol canyon, which is almost the longest path from Podkilavec to Hahlić. No description on this portal, so some pics, detailed description in blog. Tip: you'll like it! Local we met at end trains for run to Grintovec and greets our runners, also BojanA from this forum. I told him I'd let them know. http://free-svoboden.blogspot.com/2014/04/hahlici-in-mudna-dol-1100m-2032014.html

Lidija, as always, excellently written blog, spiced with quite a few humorous and mischievous inserts.... really pleasant reading.

Croatia surprises me more and more. Especially in the via ferrata sense. This one needs to be visited. Is there any comparison with a similar path in Slovenia? Or if any Croat knows a comparison e.g. with the Little Prince path and ascent to Bili kuk or ferrata on Ravna gora. Bili kuk

Croatia is paradise anyway This "ferata" in Mudna dol canyon is nothing special, short but not for the dizzy. Mainly very nice surroundings. Comparison with Little Prince path is ok, but "technical" details shorter

Croatia is really beautiful but to realize it you have to get out of standard tourist resorts and away from crowds. Applies to many countries anyway. As for hiking paths, they are nicely arranged, also marked, sometimes (e.g. Sljeme) even numbered (nowhere in Slovenia yet),... Only thing I would criticize is safety gear, esp. cables, which are sometimes a bit 'western' style.

Nice, Lidija. These days the number of helmets in the canyon was bigger than 10 years back

On Saturday also me to Hahlić through Mudna dol, judging by the book entry, some two three hours behind Wine. Onward a golden retriever with red collar faithfully accompanied me to half way to the gorge (even when I got lost on poorly marked paths). As two hikers told me on the way back, he's the permanent companion of hikers there. Report follows!

VanSims, Wine, I wonder if the hut on Hahlić is open. I know last year they had issues around supplies, sales or something, so on my visit day they had inspection. Best regards

Yes, it is open, but not sure if only weekends - @Wine probably knows better, and all the tragicomedies around this hut. What I know about it is that the municipality wanted to cancel the lease and now they can't charge for drinks (probably food too). I paid for tea on a voluntary basis.
