Judging by the posts, Pasja ravan doesn't seem to have many admirers. The name used to put me off sometimes, so it took quite a while for me to climb it at all. Well, this year already the second time. That's what measures do when you don't have much choice. But you still have a choice. You choose between different access routes and on Sunday we chose one that had intrigued me for quite some time and where the paths weren't quite clear to me. We've gotten lost on them before, but also found our way . So, on Sunday, when fog lingered in the valleys, we headed in that direction before the village of Selo, where the parking lot used to be deserted sometimes. First into the village, then left towards Črni vrh, Pasja ravan. Sv. Ožbolt is also reachable in this direction, I figured along a nice, lesser-known variant. At the third intersection we chose the upper path over the top of Mlake (Prosenov grič) for the ascent, and returned via the lower path. Nice loop where you don't meet many people. The path is interesting, in the first part I'd say even solitary, where you hear the whistling of the wind and the chirping of birds. The markers are old, from some previous era, a bit misleading too, as they offer variants to the right that are already overgrown. Really beautiful trip, worth repeating, I'd say in some other time or anytime, as soon as possible . I recommend!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this transfer and explanation , I actually suggested to Tadej myself to move it under hiking, it didn't seem sensible to me for the record to stay under mountain biking. Majda, and thanks to you for praising what was written .

Nice and solitary. The paths around there are quite familiar to me. To Ožbolt you can turn right at the path intersection in picture no. 14. In that case, a kilometer or a bit more of asphalt awaits you. But if you turn at picture no. 20, you reach Ožbolt via a pleasant gravel (unmarked) path. Many pleasant paths and best regards, Nacka P.s.: see ZS

From Hotovlje over Bukov vrh. Towards the summit wintery with wind. On the plateau of Pasja ravan a good 10 cm of snow.

Today our mountain flower suggested Pasja Ravan. We went from Visoko to Log, then up the Sovpat gorge towards Bukov vrh. We didn't reach Valterski vrh this time, but we were at Črni vrh. The path to Črni vrh is not marked, just a couple of faded marks. From Črni vrh to Pasja Ravan it's marked, the European long-distance path E7 runs there too. Again a day for super views from Snežnik to Porezen, Blegoš, Malenski vrh, Koprivnik, Mladi and Stari vrh. On Pasja Ravan the weather radar reigns, bravo constructor Rudi. At the top we had a snack and met a nice young family with Tristan and Iza. We continued to the church on Bukov vrh and descended towards Poljane, that's marked. But then we asked friendly locals again, since the turnoff to Visoko is not marked. With our inventive expert it worked, without her we would have gotten lost several times...At Tavčar homestead in Visoko there was a craft meeting, concert in the evening. It started raining a bit, but sun shone quickly. The homestead is nicely arranged, more events coming. We walked 18 km, 760 m elevation. No mushrooms, but we found two porcini.

One question - I'd go to Pasja Ravan directly from Polhov Gradec. Looking at the map, there's a path drawn at the turnoff for Ernejčkov graben going towards Božna-Smolnik-Črni vrh. Where's the best place to leave the car if my starting point is Polhov Gradec? Is there a nice circular path around there that takes about 4-5 hours and circles a few more peaks?

Leave the car approx 1.5 km from P.Gradec towards Črni vrh. You reach a fork where the road branches right towards Petačev graben. Right after the bridge you park and go! steeply uphill. If you look closer, it's even marked. You grind your knees for about half an hour and reach a point where you have a nice view of Polhograjska gora. From there on along the road, nothing to miss! From Pasja Ravan you can continue towards Selo (it's even marked) and then down to the start. Approx 4-5h. I do this route when there's nowhere higher to go and it's very nice right after snowing. Virgin snow! Good luck.

If you have 4-5h available, Pasja Ravan is also a nice goal for a bike trip from Ljubljana, and more environmentally friendly than going by car and then walking. For me this is a more interesting variant, because the surroundings are quite pleasant and beautiful throughout the ride.
