With my colleague, we're going at the end of the month from Dravograd to Maribor across Kozjak in two days. But we have a problem; we can't find accommodation on this side of the Drava. I asked several people living near the path but no one knows of any. I went to ask at Guesthouse Žohar but they say they have no rooms. Does anyone have an idea?

Hello,
I'm writing to you as the maintainer of this trail. Unfortunately, I have to tell you that accommodations on this trail are a thorn in the side. If you want to sleep in the area of Žohar, I sadly have to recommend the AU side of Kozjak as on the SLO side it's not possible to find any.
You'll have to extend to Pankracija. There you'll descend to the north where you'll find Gasthaus Legat where you can refresh yourselves and sleep.

P.s. Warning. The trail is under renovation. Certain stamps are currently not available. I strongly recommend using GPX.

Not necessarily near Žohar. What interests me is if there's any accommodation option between Košenjak and Žavcarjev vrh besides the suggested Legat? True, Kozjak towards Pohorje is real "wilderness"  .

When you hike it and get to know it you'll think differently.
No mountain huts but farms:

I slept in a hunting stand further from Sv. Jernej above Muta, because night caught me on the trail across Kozjak.

If you announce in advance, you can sleep and get food at farm tourism Lanfrid, Brezni vrh. That's near former border crossing Remšnik. Past former customs post right after is this farm, then on Austrian side nearby also supplies, not sure about sleeping. I think there's also at Ostrem vrh, farm tourism too. Must start at right time and direction. Need to scout and plan. Worst case pull through in one go.

Called farm tourism Lanfrid but no rooms. Found it at Legat on Remšnik in Austria though. Otherwise called everything alive, only this option. Even asked radio amateurs who own the former customs on Kapunarj, answer no way, under cameras and guarded object....., have to avoid it from afar... Will report after hiking...

So the weekend hut by the path isn't ready yet, it will serve for overnight stays. That's what they told us. Recently we walked along the border of Radlje municipality, didn't "check" at Kapunarj, true we just stamped and went on.

We managed to hike the trail from Dravograd to Kapla, the rest we'll continue in autumn in cooler weather . Went along the border path. From Košenjak to Kapla no hut or inn except Žohar... So gotta stock up well for the trail. Twice descend from over 1000m to under 500m, to Bistriški jarek and to Žohar. Path from Sv. Tri kralji to Žohar overgrown in one part. In one day across Pohorje or this part across Kozjak, across Pohorje much easier challenge. At Kapla a weekend hut opened where you can sleep, Hiša med brezami on Facebook.
