Hi Miha, nice that you came up to recharge the batteries a bitnasmeh, yeah, I hope the cross will be ok for a while, we again forgot to place the new logbookmrk pogled, the friend remembered he forgot it at home after we met you at the junction, at least he then paid for a round in that crowd at the lower lake, since you were so fast, did you visit something else nearby?

On Saturday it was really nice weather and the summit offers really excellent views. We also stopped at the lake for a drink and there were really lots of people.

Belopeška lakes-Kopa-Moriška valley-Sedelce-Klanška saddle-Belopeška lakes

The crossing from Moriška valley to the grassy slopes unfolding on the Slovenian side below Sedelce saddle interested me for quite some time. Ločanka awakened it to conscious level with her visit to Remšendol, Alessio added pictorial oil to the fire and some worm wouldn't let me rest, so before the deterioration I had to go. For starting point instead of Remšendol I chose Belopeška lakes, as I wanted to include Poldnik too. The path to it is quite steep and slippery in morning hours. Somewhere at the forest border I met the first living soul, a chamois. I descended on the path that is inagibile (conditionally (un)passable, unsuitable for use) and which, if we disregard markings, resembles an extremely picturesque pathless terrain - no fixed protections and none were there, so can't count on them anywhere. Somewhere mid-descent I met the second living soul, a chamois that looked at me strangely but said nothing. Across the valley and then S-up to Sedelce. The scrambling is easy but in the first part water was flowing over the rock. Still I preferred it to scree a bit more to the left. The second ledge was once equipped and one can find some pitons, pegs and remnants of wire/cable - to me it didn't seem usable, more like an outdoor museum. At Sedelce I turned towards Klanška saddle and walked below Visoka and Mali Špici. The rock above Sedelce is in some other plan, so I didn't even go to its easily accessible east summit. Descent from Klanška saddle down the gully full of rolling stones is not knee-friendly, but surprises with waterfalls that even in this dry summer haven't dried up.

Here too, you need to watch your feet a bit; downwards it would certainly be more annoying17
Up the slab - I don't even know if the descent goes more up or down18

I turned the lower arrow to the direction from which I came, the upper one to the direction of continuation. Right downwards is not passable.20

Yes, ločanka. I scared it off and in its clumsiness it didn't manage to fly anywhere else but to the nearby branch. nasmeh

Djimuzl, probably similar, only wheelbarrows I think they couldn't get up there. velik nasmeh

Yes, Alessio, path 519 is a real gem. Hope you manage to tidy it and reopen it. nasmeh

Zokipoki, thanks... Gotta arrange for Z Julijce sometime. mežikanje

You were lucky. On the descent from Kožljak, when we went to the Bes chapel, I passed by a bush where two flew out. But so fast that they were nowhere to be seen. They hid somewhere nearby. nasmeh

Today with PD Rašica Ljubljana to the beautiful peak - Poldnik or Kopa in Italian Picco di Mezzodi - 2063m. On descent we also went to the nearby peak Col Rotondo - 1583m. Elevation gain is 1000m. The path is demanding - especially today, as it was not dry and slippery in places. The key part of the ascent is the rocky gully, where you go on all fours. For the descent the lead guide set up a rope fence here and we descended without issues. At the top divine views on all surrounding mountains. The peak is an excellent viewpoint. Weather was excellent - top.
The starting point was the parking lot at Belopaška Lakes.1
The parking lot was full despite the early hour.2
Views of the nearby peaks already enchant us here.3

Now I studied the military map too. Sella Colrotondo is the name for the saddle. Črni vrh is just called Colrotondo. From this saddle somewhere mid-path to Poldnik on the left side peak Kolarič - Monte Collarice - 1485m - we didn't notice any path - don't know if the path is completely overgrown or pathless. Guides said that to Poldnik from the other side very demanding path - marked red dashed on the map - goes past peak Bukovnik - Monte Buconik. After demanding part the path continues to Remšendol - Valromana - at least that's what I noted.

No more ropes on the most difficult section, so some skill is required, especially on the descent.

This time we went to the nearby border area and climbed from Mangart Lakes to the scenic two-thousander Kopa. The path is mostly steep, you also need to hold onto the rock. Nice views but distant peaks were unfortunately covered by clouds. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/kopa-3
